Kiahdaj September 14, 2012 September 14, 2012 It feels as though my tulpa is right on the verge of being able to speak. I shouldn't say that, what i mean, it that I am right on the verge of being able to hear him. I've tried for a total of about 30 minutes, a session primarily for me to hear him talk. I just lied down, relaxed, and asked him to say particular things (like my name, etc.). I also tried having him say whatever he wanted, and I just tried to hear him. I don't honestly even know where to begin trying to "hear" something that's not actually being said in the real world, so I think that's a large part of why it has failed so far. So what are some methods, or routines, or anything that you think could help me hear my tulpa? Thanks a lot. "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."
Phi September 15, 2012 September 15, 2012 As for "what to look for", have you ever been really tired, and you started hearing clear, distinct voices? It's kind of like that.
Chupi September 15, 2012 September 15, 2012 If you can't hear any thoughts, try centering. Basically quiet your mind to reduce the "you" thoughts you hear. Now think of him just briefly and then let go of it. Listen for anything at all from him. Ask him questions to try and get him to say something. Once you have anything at all, proceed to the "thought ping-pong" thing below. Or try Bluesleeve's essence / core thing. It suggests having someone else help you, and this would probably help, but it is possible to do it on your own. It's also epically confusing, especially the idea of tracing thoughts back to their origin. The replies in that thread explain some stuff, but it's still pretty confusing. If you can't figure much out on it, try asking people who have done it, or just do it as best you can figure. (I did it and may be able to help some, though I did have significant help from my tulpa on finding my own essence.) If you can "hear" thoughts from him, there's a neat "thought ping-pong" thing you can do to hear him better: Get a thought from him, examine how it "sounds"/feels, and send it back to him. Then have him send it again but a little differently. Examine this, and send it back with a description of how it differs from last time. Wash, rinse, repeat. The idea is to give him a way to see how well his speech is coming through, and to see the effects of each thing he does differently. (Credit for this method goes to lemonlemon's Yolk, who suggested it to me.) Kiahdaj September 15, 2012 Author September 15, 2012 Alright, thanks you two. And one last thing: Would you recommend white noise while doing this? "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. Chupi September 15, 2012 September 15, 2012 Yes. Pink noise may be preferable to white, since it sounds less harsh. Either should make auditory hallucinations easier to hear. BUT don't focus on the noise and try to pick sounds out of it; I did that for hours and got nothing. Spacing out (or going about other everyday activities) and not paying attention to the noise at all seems to give the best results. Natasha September 15, 2012 September 15, 2012 You don´t want to hear them man.... They seem nice, and then... they start getting better at talking... they start learning, and then... they start trolling you ;_; OT: I usually go somewhere i can clear my mind, be that just outside once the night falls or just anywhere in the city during the day. As long as you get away from anything that might cause your thoughts to drift away from him, such as TV, PC, Friends, Family, Books, whatever your poison is, just stay as far away from it as possible while trying to force, that´s what helps me anyway. De bedste og smukkeste ting i verden kan hverken ses eller røres, de må opleves med hjertet.
Kadoh September 15, 2012 September 15, 2012 When Lucifer/Hash talks (obviously not Shin, he doesn't have a mouth. Also he is quiet) they move their mouths, and it's more of a knowing than a hearing, until they develop a real voice. Your thoughts are not noise. What do thoughts sound like? Nothing. Unless you put a voice to them, they have no voice. Also, I never get voices just before I fall asleep, except maybe strange noises that make me dephacate in my pantaloons. I do, however, get "hypnic jerks" or whatever, where I feel like I am falling and I shit myself. Or I will get into half sleep state and dream while awake, like I thought I tripped on a stair, but in reality I was lying sideways and kicked my cat and seemed to spin, as in my mind I was standing. What were we talking about again? My opinions are all subject to change.
Biotechnology September 17, 2012 September 17, 2012 One thing that has helped slightly was something that the daemon community suggested... They say that you should look out for any little voices that comment on things. For example, when you're thinking of going to bed, you might hear your mind voice say "yes, you really should go to bed". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoughtform#Modern_perspective 'I say 'soul making' Soul as distinguished from an Intelligence- There may be intelligences or sparks of divinity in millions- but they are not souls until they acquire identities, till each one is personality itself' -John Keats, 1819
Chupi September 17, 2012 September 17, 2012 What Biotech describes is about what centering is supposed to accomplish. It's really just learning to hear those little thoughts that you'd otherwise ignore.
