Tiiw January 3, 2013 January 3, 2013 I'm not that social Jimmeh. As I outlined before, if this app is just to be a progress report application, then why not just use this site? You can access this site from a smartphone, and of course there is a progress report section. I just don't understand why. Why is this a thing? I myself don't want to share my progress with others. Avalanche January 3, 2013 January 3, 2013 I myself don't want to share my progress with others. That's fine, you don't have to. I'm not saying either that this app is, I dunno, trying to make people be more social. I just don't get what the purpose of this app is. It does everything that this site already covers and offers, aside from being /made/ from android/smartphones. frt
MysticalBurrito January 4, 2013 January 4, 2013 if you already know Java is it similar to Javascript? I was wondering because I started a Javascript tutorial and later found out the tutorial I took wasn't for Java, but I'm still going to keep learning it since it's fun to play around with when I'm bored. If you can get a version of this released, if you want I could make a website and host it on my dropbox. (Downside is not getting a custom domain name) That's fine, you don't have to. I'm not saying either that this app is, I dunno, trying to make people be more social. I just don't get what the purpose of this app is. Actually, in my case this would be useful in the event of your internet going out or you going on a long trip to a place without internet. for me we use a mobile hotspot and sometimes we go long periods without internet so this is rather useful in those cases. yellowkills January 7, 2013 Author January 7, 2013 Hence why the ability to disable certain parts would exist, so that you could be your own special snowflake. A good idea would be if the dev went and made an introduction that basically asked: What is your tulpas's basic info?NameFormOther stuff in the creation processImage base (Perhaps include Google search/HDD upload function) [*]Do you use a wonderland? Y/N Y=Would you like to design it now?Wonderland design utility [*]Do you have a tulpa.info forum account? Y/N Would you like to link it to tulpaForge? Y/N (This is to automatically update your progress reports, and scrobble (?) past updates. Please input your username and password. And more. By clicking yes/no to certain things, you personalize the application to your personal preferences, and thus people won't be forced/encouraged to do things that they don't currently do. #ya_dig? @Jimmy: I really like this idea! A first-use tutorial that also configures the settings. This is exactly the kind of feedback I need :D I don't know how robust the wonderland design utility will be. I want people to be able to make an accurate visual representation of their wonderland, but if it's too powerful, it may hinder more than help. I don't want the user to spend more time designing their wonderland than they actually spend in it. I would like to integrate automated posting to your tulpa.info progress report, but that will have to come later on. I will also need to work with Pleeb on it, so we make sure that the forum isn't spammed. That's fine, you don't have to. This site doesn't allow you to visually organize and track your tulpa's personality traits. It also doesn't have a timer to help with forcing sessions (for example, if you wanted to force 4 different traits for 15 min each, and play a different audio tone for the 2nd half of the session). Those 2 features are what I built this idea around; everything else is just icing on the cake. if you already know Java is it similar to Javascript? @MysticalBurrito: No, Javascript is completely unrelated to Java. If I ever decide to make tulpaForge web-hosted, it would probably be as an imbedded Java applet.
Avalanche January 7, 2013 January 7, 2013 Sounds like some paper (or memory) and any sort of timer would do the same job. But then why not put them into an app I guess. frt
G+3 January 7, 2013 January 7, 2013 Oh god, so much reading. I think it's a great idea; I don't think it's been suggested, (unless ctrl-f is failing me,) but I think there should be an option to add extra tabs and note books and shit. I, for example, like to keep several separate notes on my ever note: one's that don't fit into the diary, such as quotes of my most favoured of Pruria's words, log of results of possession, etc. Just the diary and wonderland obviously is not going to suit these needs, and I'm sure many other's can relate. This will also tailor to if the tulpae that want to start a diary of their own, an idea log, blah blah blah. Another idea I've had is the ability to lock certain logs, lets say if you want to put a password on your diary, etc. etc. [Navigation should be easy, too; ergonomics! Oh, and colour choice.] Personalization would be nice too. Maybe I'm missing some of the plot here, but those are ideas that can be pondered. yellowkills January 7, 2013 Author January 7, 2013 @G+2: That's a good idea. I may add that in later on. Also, there will be an option to have a password. I don't know about the personalization part. For now, functionality is the key concern. @Albatross_: ???
