I'm developing an application called "tulpaForge". details inside

Are you sure you want to make the whole thing an Application, though?

If you restrict the functions like Forcing Aid and everything like that to an application, it will be a lot simpler to do (and maintain!). While you could develop everything else web-based. Which would mean it'd be a LOT easier to make work with pretty much every device with an Internet browser. This should also make it a bit easier for people to pick out which parts they want to use.

It would sort of divide your efforts on two directions, but I really think it'd have better results and be easier to create like that. Specially since supporting a large amount of devices is a main objective.

This would, however, mean that all information would HAVE to be stored in a server. But it wouldn't be that hard to allow an user full control over which information can be viewed by others and which can't. Some few people might have trouble with giving such information to the server anyway.

And servers have costs, too. But if you were planning on going somewhat biggish, I imagine you've been planning on getting a host anyway, if only to have a dedicated place to talk about it.

The data wouldn't have to be stored on a server. If it were browser based, the app could store your data in the browser cache and maybe an export function so you can wipe the cache without losing your data.

i like this idea

"Mr. Stickler, you are guilty of panty-snatching in the first degree!"

Yellow if you don't make this fast enough I'm going to make it myself

AND IT WONT BE IN JAVA

I was thinking web-based with data stored on a server

Is anybody able to host a server?

Why not just store the data in a .tup file and have the option to upload it to a server?

See:

Will this be somehow integrated with the site itself? Perhaps you could talk to Pleeb about embedding an application to read a possibly proprietary file type of some sort? It seems good otherwise. Do you have a timeline of some sort for when you expect this to be completed?

@Solace: I haven't talked to Pleeb about that yet, but I plan to. Once I'm further into development, I will know more.

If it simply just a bunch of settings, I don't see why uploading to the site would be hard. If it includes pictures, it might get difficult, but if it simply is a PR updater, there is no need to.

Sounds very interesting. He does not necessarily have to be funded or expect income he could just do it cause he wants to or maybe just a little something on the side. I would be interested in seeing the end product.
