Renfer112 March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 I don't remember where, but I remember seeing someone say they ONLY narrated to their tulpa, and never forced. Is it possible? If so, can you please explain how?
fennecfoxx March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 Yes, it's possible. As for how... just narrate. I don't see what there is to explain. Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here: Host: fennec (they/them) Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her) Delete all memories of those who know my awkward past
QB2 March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 Exactly as Fennec said. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
Renfer112 March 8, 2013 Author March 8, 2013 I mean, how is it possible? How can the tulpa develop without forcing?
Somekindofpony March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 I mean, how is it possible? How can the tulpa develop without forcing? Because you are talking to them. You don't need to meditate and draw pentagrams on the floor Jade "These are not the droids you are looking for" Me "These are not the droids we are looking for.."
Lacquer March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 I seem to remember hearing of people doing this, so it should be possible. I think Irish speculates about this in his guide. All you need to do is skip personality forcing and visualization forcing. Things like Phi's pre-forcing step could still be helpful, and all the post-sapience/vocality steps like reinforcing their form in your mind, imposition, and possession/switching should all be the same. I mean, how is it possible? How can the tulpa develop without forcing? Narration can still be active forcing. If you really think about it, personality forcing is just directed narration with a specific intent.
waffles March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 It's generally thought that narration is the most sentience-building step, and also the most important. Look, no-one knows what makes a tulpa sentient exactly, but prolonged attention and delusion tend to do it; you pay a lot of attention to your tulpa, and pretend that they're there. Personality and visualisation help with sentience, sure, but your tulpa isn't going to be left without a personality or form if you don't do them; they'd get one at random, or according to subconscious desires I suppose. Anyway, if you wanted to then there's nothing different. Narration is free-standing, so you just narrate more and don't do anything else.
Sands March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 I see personality as just narration practice anyways if you're doing it early on. It might give you and them a better idea of how they would be, but life always changes people. A tupper can be without a form so visualization could be skipped and they wouldn't get one, but of course, if they do want a body then one could easily be made after that. Narrate away. The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)

My tulpa was accidental and I didn't know what a tulpa was until a few years after I had her. I didn't know what forcing, imposition or any of these fancy terms were until a year or so back. She came with a form and vocality (Shit was hard to hone in on though) on day 1, and was usually stable if I paid her any attention. Narration-only is definitely possible though not recommended as you won't see shit (Hallucinations anyway) for a long, long time if you do it this way. I still can't see shit with my actual eyes because I never forced visualization, but I have been having these hallucinny flashes and blotches recently. but prolonged attention and delusion tend to do it; Yeah, this. I literally went insane from this through desperation of wanting to see her and various methods of doing so, however. I went overboard. She couldn't help me either as she was affected as well and we didn't know any better. Still, she was a lot more stable than I was. I have not been able to get back into psychosis since then, which I am still kicking myself for not taking advantage of considering that was the both the shittiest and best time of my life due to easy but sometimes unwanted hallucinations, visualization and intense dissociative states. So yeah, if you call yourself a mad scientist long enough, it will happen. Just don't get metaphysical while doing so, that was where I went wrong even if those beliefs were against my will.
