Jax April 29, 2013 April 29, 2013 Using your own body as reference? What if it's a non-human tulpa? Maybe it's easier to visualize reflections because they're actually 2D images, which should be easier than 3D. Well, even then I suspect that it would help give you something to measure size against. But, this is all just baseless speculation. I could be completely off the mark.
Lacquer April 29, 2013 April 29, 2013 They are flat surfaces, though.Apparently they are. Reflection in mirror are just 2D image. I honestly can't tell if you guys are being serious.
Splooshie123 April 29, 2013 April 29, 2013 In hindsight, I didn't really explain myself well. I still can't.
Lacquer April 29, 2013 April 29, 2013 Here: Stand in front of a mirror about two meters/yards away. Put your thumb at arm's length between your face and the mirror. Attempt to focus on your thumb, the surface of the mirror, the reflected thumb, and the reflected face. Boom, proof that mirrors are 3D, not that it needed proving.
Guest Anonymous April 29, 2013 April 29, 2013 Mirrors appear to be 3D because your eyes get a slightly different picture each, creating the 3D effect.Same thing used in movies. Close one of your eyes and look at a mirror. Now open it and close the other. The image "jumps". Anyway, back to the original topic, yes I find it easier to visualize her in a mirror, and I think I'll go with Jax' theory, it's probably because I have some reference, and it's easy because she is just as high as me.
Aarix April 29, 2013 April 29, 2013 I too have noticed this, its handy when my college night class has a mirror as an entire wall. Also when I'm brushing my teeth i can see her in the mirror behind me easier as well. I never paid it much mind though. Progress report "You'll have a Tulpa because you didn't give up" -Koomer
Pashoo April 29, 2013 April 29, 2013 Just gonna try this out, later An abstract, all-encompassing love is still a love, nonetheless.
Tulpony April 30, 2013 April 30, 2013 Since we are on the topic, slight offshoot. When you do manage to get them imposed, do your tulpa have a reflection? And is/was it a conscious thing? That is something I've been curious about for awhile. Either you or they have to actively create the reflection. Just sticking them in front of a mirror does nothing, just like they don't automatically have a shadow. In terms of the whole "easier to visualize in 2D" thing, I tried visualizing Cordy through my 3DS's screen in camera mode, and found that to be a bit harder. Has anyone else tried visualizing their tulpae through 2D media, such as photos?
