I just started trying to force and I really dont want to give up on Z, but when I try to visualize her its like I can only see her for a second before she vanishes and I rinse and repeat.

A horse and a man; above, below. One has a plan but both must go. Mile after mile; above, beneath. One has a smile and one has teeth. Though the man above may say hello; expect no love from the beast below.

Like all skills, visualization will get better with time, and practice.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

But still how did it feel when you first started?

lol. you can see a flash of something? you lucky bastard. it took me weeks or more before i could even see that.

I could see nothing- yet when I finally did, it was dim and fuzzy as shit, and left just as quickly. I thought there was something wrong with me, since I read all the time and am good with cnstructive imagination; I looked though every Q&A thread to do with visualisation problems, asked IRC, PMed people- honestly, I was over-thinking it.

everyone starts off at different levels. keep at it.

but what did it feel like specifically? like fucking nothing and a head strain because I couldn't make something appear, that's what.

What I first felt was sort of a bunch of disjointed, colorless images of different parts of her. Didn't have any 'feelings' though, beyond the obvious, "Holy wow this is a person I'm making in my head."

Not so colorful, detail-less image. And blurry outside of part that i concentrate on. And if i switched my attention to different part of her body all changes that i made just vanish. Like "Ok, long white hair. Now to her tail... Hey, why the f. is she gone bald?!"

Practice makes perfect. If it hard to visualize just find image of someone who looks like your tulpa and try to visualize it. And when you can more or less visualize - do some changes to it.

現実に抗え!

When I first started forcing, I still had my mini Christmas tree still up, so all I saw was an ugly dark red.

It took a while, but after picking up some techniques such as self-hypnosis and meditation, tulpaforcing became considerably more interesting. I'm currently working on controlling hallucinations as I've pretty much got visualization down, and I already get vivid images in my head with just closing my eyes for a second.

I'm still attending school which is keeping me very busy, and I can still tulpaforce with ease. It's simple and becomes much more simple and fun with practice.

Name: Luna (Used to be "Dashie")

Birthday: Jan 29, 2013

Form: Rainbow Dash

Stage: Imposition/Visualization/Voice

When I started, the split-second visualization you're getting would be considered great progress. I couldn't see a darn thing, even in my mind's eye. I was looking at a vague black silhouette on an all black background.

But yeah, practice makes perfect. Use those flashes of visualization. Try to figure what you do that triggers them. See if you can make them happen more often. With practice you can get something more steady.

My blog :: Time expectations are bad (forcing time targets are good though)

If you keep going at it you will find a sweet spot where you can visualize your tulpa for longer duration's without breaking concentration, but as people have mentioned its a skill and requires practice.
