Um... well if you're like me, unless you have some random spark of inspiration, you can't really see anything when you're visualizing unless you can see it physically first. If you're an artist, try drawing out your tulpa's form. It may help.

If you're continually losing focus when you try to visualize, your problem is more likely focus than visualization. There are different exercises for that. Additionally, your diet and sleep schedule affect your ability to focus. You might find that soft music, tones or something else helps as well. There's also various supplements that claim to aid in focus.
