Guest May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 glitchthe3rd, does your servitor-turned-tulpa still sap your attention like it used to? Does it still take your active attention to sustain it, or is it now parallel/independent from you? I feel like I've gotten her to a point where she's capable of really thinking for herself and forming her own opinions. I never actually had to pay attention to her (in fact I forgot about her for a year or two), whenever that happened she'd just go do her own thing in my unconscious until I remembered her. Did you ask her if she has any memories of those 1-2 years?
Bluesleeve May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 Can you give us some examples of the servitors you created? How long do they stay if you do not "maintain" them? Can they reappear after a long time? As how permanent do you see those created entities? How much time does it take you to create a servitor? Since you seem to be.experienced, how modifyable do you consider a Tulpa's appeareance? Would you say the consciousness-gaining process is coming naturally to a servitor? How long does this process usually take? Could you describe your creation process? How did you first encounter this subject? I hope it's not too much to answer. What is a Tulpa? Blog Rainbow 'Alyx' Dash Pronto

In theory, they can stick around forever (at least that's the case for me). Yes. I guess I would see them as permanent, seeing as how the only way for me to remove them is by destroying them. It varies, depending on the level of detail I'm going for it could be a few minutes or a few months. You can change their clothes, hair and (with some training) their form can even be drastically altered. So, very modifiable. A servitor won't become self-aware on its own, you have to invest a lot of time/energy for that to happen. I can't put a specific timeframe on it, but most guides I've read say 100 hours. I just find a form I like, give it a personality if it doesn't already have one, and voila. Obviously this gets more complex if you're making something that's not a pre-existing fictional character. But a form and a personality are really all you need to make a servitor. I found out about tulpas from a thread on /v/, but I'd been working on this independently since, like, the fifth grade or something. Guest May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 glitchthe3rd, you didn't answer my earlier question: Does your tulpa have memories of the time she was a servitor? Does she identify them with herself or are they just pulled from your own memories? When does her own memory begin? When you first imagined her as a servitor or after she gained self-awareness?

She has memory from all the way back when I created her, also I'd say she identifies them as her own memories, even if they're often just my memories from a different perspective. ThatOneGuy May 11, 2012 May 11, 2012 Ah yes, servitors. They are sentient in a way, but not the self developing and free kind that our tulpae are. They're more like machines than anything organic, designed to do whatever their master says whenever they say it. Do I have a fellow Psion on my hands? glitchthe3rd May 11, 2012 Author May 11, 2012 ^ I don't know, do you? *searches Wikipedia* Sounds like a bunch of hoopla to be making over tulpae. =P "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
ThatOneGuy May 11, 2012 May 11, 2012 Parapsychologist is a better known word, though Psions put the parapsychology stuff to more practical uses. Not a lot of hoopla at all, though. You brought up servitors, which happen to be something that Psions put to work if they need them, and I thought that you may have been one. Ah, well. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
