SilencerSIN January 1, 2014 January 1, 2014 Sorry, kind of a noob here.... Stumbled upon tulpas a few days ago, and the idea of it was amazing. I set out to make my own, and kinda feel progress, but I notice a few things. I wake up more during the night, and I am also more tired, need to take naps even though I have plenty of sleep. Also, whenever I try to force or concentrate on my tulpa, my body feels kinda warm from the lower back.. Does this happen to you guys? Also, I am curious what your tulpas first sounded like..and can you influence the way the sound?

I don't think your tulpa can make you more tired, maybe it could be a change in your sleeping schedule that started when you created your tulpa. It is very normal for you to feel different when you focus on your tulpa. You feel warm around the lower back when you focus on your tulpa while my hands and feet get heavily numb whenever I focus on mine, the feeling is different for everybody. I only heard Cloud Roller's real voice once so far. His voice has a very deep yet friendly tone. Yes, you can influence their voice, with a method called "parroting", I recommend you look into this method, there are some good guides out there that can explain parroting better than I can. http://textuploader.com/kn6b
SilencerSIN January 1, 2014 Author January 1, 2014 Thnks toaster, your post has helped a lot. I too feel my limbs get numb when I heavily focus. My sleep pattern has changed, I am in winter break right now, and have much more sleep than I do during all the bs at school :P Well I read enough that parroting/puppeting can be benefitial, but I heard that there were risks of doing so. Can it be elaborated more? I know not to doubt my tulpa, and I consider every kind of response as something from her. Just now, while watching a show, I felt a sudden warmth and pressure, and I think it was my tulpa. I also think I made my wonderland too big... Should I keep it to the size of a room? How do you keep it consistent? Same with the features of my tulpa, trying to keep consistency.. Any help is appreciated.
Linkzelda January 1, 2014 January 1, 2014 Your questions seem a bit non-sequential to the actual thread, but either way, I’ll try to interpret and respond to the best of my abilities. When you’re first starting out trying to create a tulpa, or just any point before or after the process, there will obviously be some form of practices that would be mentally taxing on the mind, especially when it’s trying to get used to doing things you’ve repressed for so long (i.e. fixating on your daily lifestyle and reality rather than trying to get over a subconscious deadlock to hopefully have an easier time making a tulpa). But like what MyToasterHasInternet stated, it could be other factors like your sleeping schedule. The same principle could be applied if a person was just starting out with attempting lucid dreaming. Depending on how adjusted they are with their sleeping, things like REM cycles and such and experiencing lucid dreams that are intense may end up in the person feeling a bit tired when they wake up. Although that isn’t always the case since people can lucid dream just fine and feel energetic the moment they wake up. Things like what level of cognition the person is at, their ability to be suggestive, and other sets of competencies stacked beforehand contributes to how militant or how easy it is when concentrating or doing whatever with their tulpa. Also, I am curious what your tulpas first sounded like..and can you influence the way the sound? No worries, we all have to start somewhere. I recall being pretty exhausted all-around near the beginning, probably a symptom of me trying to get used to exerting more brainpower than everyday life calls for. From my experience, that doesn't sound out of the ordinary. I think I had some sort of warm feeling at certain points in the early stages of forcing, but it wasn't consistent and doesn't seem to happen anymore. Could be a sign of something tulpa-related I suppose, though what impact it has on overall progress isn't something I've really looked into. As for sound, my tulpa communicated through thought intent for a while (without words or voice, just very basic thoughts), and still does on occasion. When she does this, it's very simple and almost automatic for me to convert her thought into words in the voice we've agreed on her having. She's starting to speak with her voice, though I'm not sure how much influence I've had over the voice she currently has. It's easy enough to choose how you want your tulpa to sound at the outset if you have something in mind, but once they start communicating with you it's a good idea to check with them to make sure they are happy with their voice. A wonderland can be as big as you want it to be, just try to keep it from being too crowded, it will become harder to visualize your tulpa in a distracting wonderland. If you want to keep your wonderland, and your tulpa's form consistent, just simply force regularly to keep it consistent. And don't worry about the ”risks” of parroting, there is only one real risk to worry about: WORRYING ABOUT THE RISKS (aka - becoming ”parrotnoid”) http://textuploader.com/kn6b
Xantan January 2, 2014 January 2, 2014 Just want to toss in that i also experience mental exhaustion and headaches when i force, as do many people i've talked to so that should be perfectly normal. "The way is in training." - Miyamoto Musashi
Stryke January 3, 2014 January 3, 2014 I wake up more during the night, and I am also more tired, need to take naps even though I have plenty of sleep. I've been wondering about this myself lately. I need to get up earlier in the morning than I used to because of my job, and I find myself waking up two or three times in the small hours before I actually have to. I've been wondering if it's my tulpas trying to help me wake up and not knowing the time, but honestly? It's probably just a hiccup in my sleeping patterns, these things happen when your routine is different. Getting tired though, that could well be tulpa-related. Mine show their presence in my mind through pressure and headaches, and dealing with that as well as my day-to-day life has definitely made me tire more easily. It actually helps me get to sleep at night a lot quicker than I used to. Also, I am curious what your tulpas first sounded like..and can you influence the way the sound? When Thunder first started 'talking' by himself he used my own mindvoice, and still does sometimes when I can't give him my full attention. I gather this is quite common as tulpas get used to the idea of using words. If you want them to have their own voice ASAP, then parroting it onto them might be the best way. I tried getting Thunder to repeat his words in the voice I wanted at first, it seems to have helped him along, or at least shown him how to use different sounds so he can find his own. SilencerSIN January 3, 2014 Author January 3, 2014 Thanks for the reply guys. I think my tulpa has grown alot in the past few days again, and I experience more headaches. Apparently the earlier awakenings might be the tulpa waking earlier than I am or something like that. I communicate alot with her throughout the day, and I usually hear her mindvoice, but it doesnt have a gender, its just the thought of those words. Is it normal for her to talk at this point? She usually gives a simple 'yes' 'no' but sometimes talks much more. Sorry for throwing so many unrelated questions in this thread, I'll make a new one for other Q's :P

How quickly a tulpa becomes vocal depends on both the host and the tulpa themselves. Taleweaver could talk almost immediately, but I think she had been drifting around for a while watching me. Every tulpa moves at their own pace, and you should try not to worry about their progress too much. Though of course you are going to, I think we all did at some point ;) Thunderfall (goes by Thunder) Male human Melody Female lamia
