I am in desperate need of help. I started taking concerta about a month ago. Ever since, my tulpa Penelope has become harder and harder to understand and hear. My mind had become incredibly clear and the medication has helped me a lot. I am taking it as a "booster" for my anti depressant. Obviously I cannot go off my medication least I want to be the depressed mess I was before. So what should I do?

I am no expert, but concerta is typically used to treat ADHD as it prevents the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine, which is consistent with your mind becoming clear after taking it for a month. It seems kinda weird to me that it was coupled with an anti-depressant (depression is a rare side effect of concerta) given that they are typically selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) and my guess is they prescribed it for the energy/mood boost. That said, definitely keep taking your medication, my guess is that your situation will stabilize over time and you will be able to understand your tulpa again (it may take time for the brain to compensate for the medication and neurotransmitter changes). I can't say it will be easy, but if you keep reinforcing the mental pathways (ie through narration, forcing, visualization) you may be able to restore your tulpa. That said with an altered brain chemistry it may be impossible to restore said pathways and you may in essence need to start from scratch (does not mean Penelope will necessarily die but visualization, vocalization, etc. may regress back due to inability to use old pathways because of medication, and may need to be redeveloped completely as new pathways). Again its hard to say because everyone is a little different and the relationship between brain chemistry and consciousness/tulpas is not well understood. If all else fails, anti-depressants are known to cause changes in the brain and at some point you may be able to stop taking the medication and the booster, but again its hard to say. Hopefully this makes sense and good luck!

Unless you believe, you shall not understand.

You can always try to find a way off the drugs entirely. Regular exercise and a healthy diet does wonders for depression.

Wait it out, keep forcing etc eventually tulpa should come back (a lot of it is expectation, part of it is new meds new side effects). Your health > tulpa don't stop taking your meds.
