NED July 3, 2012 Author July 3, 2012 Yeah, I agree. If what you are doing seems correct to you personally, then carry on. Man, I should have learnt that sooner. Name - Silver Form - Harpy Sentience - fully sentient Personality - Playful, cheerful, enthusiastic, chilled Smell - Baileys Stage - Narration and imposition
FigN01 July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 Picture this: you don't doubt yourself. The whole scene changes. The sentience you might see is so inseparable from your parrots, it's impossible not to question yourself. I kept asking, "What if that voice I imagined was my tulpa?" If it's a parrot, great, I've just encouraged my parroting to get stronger; which, by the way, doesn't feel much like a real person, but I end up trusting it anyway because that's all I know at that point. On the same token I have to ask, "What if that sentience was actually a parrot?" Because I don't want to keep encouraging parroting that won't develop my tulpa. To make sure, I go a little further, and I hear what is undeniably another parrot. Either my voice masked my tulpa or that was never a sentient response at all. Neither of those two results gave me any confidence in my progress. It only served to deter me.
Guest July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 Again, Fig, you're going too much along the thoughts of "seperating parroting from sentience". What if I told you that parroting IS sentience? No, that wasn't a serious sentence, but you're not supposed to distinguish anything. Just roll with it and stop thinking so much about it. Worrying kills everything.
Avalanche July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 So does parroting into oblivion. You can't unworry this problem away. It's like not worrying about a truck coming at you at 70mph. frt
Avalanche July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 There are equally destructive. Obviously not physically, you can't die from parroting, but they will both still ruin a life. Save a life today. Don't parrot. Drink responsibly. frt
Guest July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 I have now diagnosed you with Anti-Parroting Syndrome. Thank you for your time.
NED July 3, 2012 Author July 3, 2012 Ima just sit back and let Fede fight for our theory. Name - Silver Form - Harpy Sentience - fully sentient Personality - Playful, cheerful, enthusiastic, chilled Smell - Baileys Stage - Narration and imposition
Avalanche July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 Calling common sense a syndrome? Sounds like you're the one with the syndrome. I just hope Pinkie doesn't suffer for it. frt
FigN01 July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 If you or NED want to try doing that, I can't stop you. Based on personal experience, I don't expect good things though. The surprise and confidence from hearing your tulpa's first words won't happen, and their voice might not sound so distinct from your own thoughts even when they are sentient, if they reach sentience. I don't know. I just don't want anyone else or their tulpa to go through what I did to get this far. I'm wishing your tulpas luck more than anything.
