FigN01 July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 It's a hard road when you judge and doubt yourself along the way all the time, yes.
Guest applesauce99 July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 So are you suggesting people actually should try this? Including me? I came to this conclusion myself, thinking that the subc would get the idea that im trying to talk to something other than myself. (Not sounding like a smartass here.) I then decided not to parrot anymore, until I saw this thread. mymindisfulloffuck
JD1215 July 4, 2012 July 4, 2012 Oh wait, I missed the part where you said "if you parroted mostly all the way through". Eh, in which case I doubt that's good. I used parroting to kickstart things, and tapered that off relatively soon. I think parroting can be used to establish a good personality and practice voice and movement, which I believe a method for was mentioned earlier. That being said, these days I'm quite good at discerning when I'm parroting and when my tulpae are legitimately doing something out of their own free will. I definitely don't regret doing things my way, but the lot of you seem to have a hard time figuring out when you are or aren't parroting, so I don't know if I'd really recommend it to anyone. ThatOneGuy July 4, 2012 July 4, 2012 ... Do what you want NED. Since it's technically unknown as of yet whether or not it is a good thing, just be prepared to deal with the resulting success or failure. I, personally, don't see a need to parrot since my tuppers are doing just fine without it, but I guess different people work differently and all that. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
ImLuc July 5, 2012 July 5, 2012 >You would do it so frequently [parroting] that you'd be doing it automatically in your daily life - and eventually subconsciously as well - without worrying about what's your conscious doing and subconscious doing, as you're telling yourself from point on that it's all your tulpa. And we all know that subconscious interference = tulpa interfering = sentience. Bam. Wrong. I would argue that subconscious=/= tulpa, especially when my tulpae can't see my intrusive thoughts, it makes it seem as if tulpae are entirely conscious disassociated personalities. I'd like to see your evidence to the contrary of my claim.
Guest applesauce99 July 5, 2012 July 5, 2012 hmm, it seems that tulpae actually are the very act of parrotting itself. Is this true? I always assumed tulpae were actually a sentient personality within your head, like MPD. inb4 asking if something 'is true' on a topic that hasn't been completely explained by science

You can even argue with your tulpae, parroting is NOT a sign of tulpa sentience, that notion is completely ridiculous.
Guest applesauce99 July 5, 2012 July 5, 2012 gotcha. no wonder everyone thinks people with tulpa have mpd, derp
