So , I've noticed that most of the posts in this section are loads of bullshit.

Just a few examples:

I want to try and do with my tulpa, after he gets more older. I will record all of my findings as well. Maybe test subconscious manipulation, dream manipulation, astral projection, telekinesis, remote viewing, resonance manifestation, and energy manipulation.

I was thinking about it for quite a while now, but it seems like Martina is quite disapproving about it and shakes her head every time I mention it: Summoning a succubus.

You know, the creatures that can come into your dreams and... do stuff. I was thinking of summoning one too for the purpose of research,

I heard that it's possible for a group of people to create an egregore, then, strengthen that egregore with faith and belief until it achieves godhood. Is that actually true? I heard it can be done with or without chaos magick, but chaos magick makes it occur faster.

I guess some people may realize the reason I'm asking this already. I want to create a goddess.

What happens if your mother was possessed by a demon when you're born?

Response:

Most likely not much. In theory, demon possession could help make the delivery smoother or at least take your mother's mind off of the process. I wouldn't worry about it unless she is still possessed.

As much as I value the entertainment value of this forum section, (it's fucking comical gold if you read enough) I would really recommend people to do some research before posting. If only because it gives people who take this stuff even marginally seriously, a bad name.

In the interest of deterring stupidity, I've made a short list of things that are good to know about magick, personally, I'd make this required reading in order to post on here:

1. The Cusp's Explanation of General Magical Principles (This is the best and most concise explanation I have ever read): Link

2. Aleister Crowley's Liber ABA (For everything from meditation to highly ritualized magic, probably the best and most complete book on the suvject) Link

3. Peter J. Carroll's Liber Null, Intro to Chaos Magick (Audio)

4. Wikipedia on Magic (Yes, read the whole damn thing) Link

Even more stuff for people who are really interested (These mainly have to do with chaos magick:

Liber Null & Psychonaut - Peter J Carrol

Condensed Choas - Phil Hines

Book Of Results - Ray Sherwin

About the psychological principles behind magick:

Prometheus Rising - Roger Anton Wilson

The Psychopath's Bible - Christopher Hyatt

Undoing Yourself - Christopher Hyatt

To Lie is Human - Christopher Hyatt

Book Of Results - Ray Sherwin

A lot of people, kids specifically find paganism or magic either in a book or in a tv show and take it as this thing that will allow you to summon demons to smite your enemies, mind control the people around you or in one case I had a kid try to convince me over chat in an mmorpg that he could create fire from nothing in the palm of his hand.... Not scientifically possible.

Most of those kids don't understand that magic is not summoning demons or doing crazy shit but alot of it, almost 90% is boring shit.

Anywho I applaud you and thank you for this post. Me practice. (voodoo) gets bastardized everyday and it's nice to see people who care enough to try to stop it.

According to Einstein, there are no limits to stupidity. But thanks for trying to stem the tide. I have read most of the Chaos Magick books you referenced. I may have to look into some of the others. This portion of the board is the only part that seriously considers magick to be a part of reality. Thanks again for trying to raise our consciousness.

I haven't done much in magic, beyond some basic energy work (and Wiccan rituals, back when that was my path). Thanks for posting this. I've avoided this section of the forums until now because I felt like a lot of it was just so "out there" to me, hard to explain.

This is getting a better response than I thought it would. I probably need to mention that I'm kinda on the fence with the whole thing. Yes, I've read a lot of stuff. Yes, I've tried some shit and had results (mostly not the intended ones though). But I'm not entirely convinced still. It's the nature of magick, I guess that you can never have real objective proof of its reality.

Like, Peter Carroll said "You will still have doubts even after you have turned into an eagle an soared trough the skies."

But even if you don't believe in magick, I think the symbolism it embodies is a priceless tool for a tupper creator ^^.

Also, I want to add two more books that are more entertaining than informative.

1. Anton LaVey - The Satanic Bible (if you want to see what magic is definitely not about. any useful information that might have been buried there has been well covered up anyway.) note: generally stay clear of books with religious agendas.

2. Alexandra David Neel - With Mystics and Magicians in Tibet (if you want to see how the term tulpa came into the english language. the passage about tulpas is not very long though, not more than 15 pages, but it describes very briefly how she created her own tulpa - by shutting herself in a completely darkened room for a few months.)

I generally avoid this section because: "I've noticed that most of the posts in this section are loads of bullshit."

I'm not personally doing anything relevant to this either.

...However...

I have a thirst for knowledge - especially in unusual fields.

- so this thread caught my eye.

I'll glance over some of the resources here to satisfy my curiosity when I have time.

And if anyone has more, please post them. (and it's probably a difficult thing to find in this category, but objective and practical stuff is always better than subjective stories)

Here's the issue:

I have no doubts as to the existence of metaphysical phenomena, and I'm sure that there must be some substance to magic - for it to have survived long enough for there to still be discussions like this around today.

However, I'm also certain that 99.9% of the information on this subject is BS written to suite someone's personal agenda - otherwise the practice of magic would be more common in today's society.

Modern magicians are simply illusionists - using technology and trickery to make people perceive things differently from how they actually are.

The art of using sorcery to influence the world is something that's been lost in time - still practised by only a handful of people with questionable intentions, in secret - and keeping the 0.1% of true information on the topic to themselves.

So, if anyone happens to have has any of the 0.1% non-fiction knowledge between the 99.9% works of fiction - that would be worth more than all the storybooks that abound to convince people to delude themselves - although the latter is not necessary that useless if applied appropriately to tulpaforcing.

Magic is a loose term used to describe various pagan religions that are still in practice today. The only thing that made the dark ages dark was the mass slaughter and torture of people who practiced these religions.

I'm reality pagan "magic" and monotheistic "prayer" are no different. One involves candles and herbs and one involves a church.

Also in reply to another guys post of there, magic as in magicians is not magic in the esoteric sense. For people who truly belive in the metaphysical or paganism magic is just a ritual designed with intent to achieve a desired outcome much like prayer.

Some people prefer to close their eyes and speak to god while others prefer to preform a ritual, light a candle and provide an offering to their chosen diety but it all comes down to personal preference and belief.

In my opinion the bottom line is that if you belive with all your heart that someone is listening and your prayer will be answered then it will and even if it doesn't get answered... Well then it's up to the person with faith to rationalize for themselves why not.

^^^

Dude, Amber, seriously I think I love you because you get it. Casting a spell is the same as saying a prayer. No freaking difference.

Also I'd like to add that another thing that made the dark ages dark was not only the slaughter of the people who practiced outside of the judeo-christian perspective, but also how they completely ignored any findings of science from those cultures. If Rome had never become The Holy Roman Empire and looked at all of the previous teachings as heresy, imagine how far advance our medicine and science would be today.

Amber and Ashmo, you guys are awesome. Thanks clue explaining everything better than I could.
