Jonathan December 29, 2014 December 29, 2014 Hello there. I have a couple quesions for the community, as I figure the answers would probably be found here easiest. After trying the search option and failimg to finf any results I decided to make a thread. I have begun creating my tulpa Lumen, a few days ago and when I try to active force I find I cannot visualize images or scenes or objects at all and instead I see words and letters that describe what Im thinking about. So What im curious about is, how many of you in the forum visualize with images and do any of you visualize with words as well? Ive been looking at ways to practice training my mind to see images and was just curious if any other users had a similar problem when they first started out. Also, any tips and or your thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated. This forum seems like a decent place and Lumen and I are glad to be a part of it. Thanks for reading.
arcanemagic December 29, 2014 December 29, 2014 I see images when I visualize but I can feel this little voice in the back of my mind(not Markus whispering in my ear or anything) that help me understand what I'm seeing, if that makes any sense. I know what I'm seeing when I see it, but the little descriptions add more detail to my visualization. Almost like when you're reading a really good book so that you can see in your mind's eye what's happening in the book, but there's still the little descriptive words written in the book that don't exist in your vision of the scene but still help add detail... Does that make ANY sense? I'm sorry, I tried to describe it as best I could... I promise that I know what I'm saying; I'm just not particularly great at describing stuff :P Also, for the "learning to visualize images" thing, it's just picturing whatever you're thinking about in your mind. For example, imagine that you're holding an apple. If you can see what that might look like in your mind, then you're visualizing the image of holding an apple. Markus is the tulpa, and I don't really have anything else to say. Markus speaks in Blue!
sushi December 30, 2014 December 30, 2014 To impose, you'll need to learn to visualize images. You may decide not to impose though. Lots of people don't. If you do want to impose, the good news is that you can -- it's just not a skill you've developed. With practice though, you can learn. Unfortunately, we don't know the best way to l learn, but it seems like everyone who spends a little time visualizing every day tends to improve. Kaz December 30, 2014 December 30, 2014 Hi I've just started out on mine a couple of days ago after a couple of years in holding off due to doubts and now that started I've realised I have already got really good visualization skills which is probably down to me being really imaginative when I was a child as I could never draw or write good so would mentally materialise what I couldn't physically do. As for visualization practice their's some good threads in general on the subject which could help.
OCDHost December 30, 2014 December 30, 2014 You can totally learn to visualize, some people a better starting ability than others but everyone can learn no matter how much they suck at it at first. There is no one-true-method to visualizing, you just need to practice and practice, try to do it as much as you can but don't worry if you only manage a few minutes a day, everything helps, progress may be slow but is surely there. You say you "see" words if so then you are already imagining something, you could try to force yourself to focus more on that that you are seeing, focus on the details or add details if there is nothing to focus on, do it with the words if it's easier for you or you could also try some simple things like apples like arcanemagic said. English isn't my first language and I'm not used to write in it but I'm always interested in learning, please tell me if I made a mistake or if you have any advice
Jonathan December 30, 2014 Author December 30, 2014 Thank you all for the replies. Its nice to get help with a few things. So just like I thought, practice will eventually help me learn to visualize. Well, I suppose I cant be slacking, As I am interested i imposing at some point in time.

The-Syreth-Clan January 4, 2015 January 4, 2015 Kinda like that sceensaver with the spinning text? You might actually turn that to your advantage, actually. Try to make a 3D object of those words and rotate them around as you imagine them, then when you get a good sense of 3D space around you, try to put them in different locations and/or come up with your own objects. Again try to rotate them around to see them from all sides. I'll be honest, I don't have the experience you do since I'm working with images only.
