They can be easier or harder depending on how realistic you're going to make them, obviously. I know someone with a pony tulpa that has realistic fur, which took them a lot of time to get right. A big issue that some people have with pony tulpas is the walking cycle, but that can be solved by watching the show just a bit more, methinks.

As many folks above mentioned, the walking cycle can be a pain in the ass to reproduce in your head. I can attest to that. I still can't animate it properly after 3 months of practice. Probably the main reason why Twilight moves around mostly by flying.

In all other aspects, yeah it's easy to visualize until you try to impose visuals. 2D and 3D don't mix well together.

The walking cycle is indeed very hard to imagine in the first place, even in slow motion. And once you've got it more or less down in slow motion, it's another problem to imagine it animating at the proper speed so that your pony walks at a normal pace.

How do you do the face? It's difficult to figure out its structure, especially what the nose and mouth look like, without making it grotesque or plain ugly.

Focus on the eyes. They take 2/3 of the overall face area. The rest is just a rounded muzzle, mane and two floppy ears.

One issue with pony tulpas (if you're going for a tulpa that looks like a canon pony) that Rainbow Dash and I are going through right now is that we just watched an MLP episode that featured a scene of the character she looks like being scared/terrified. Her theory is that prior, unrelated, drama between my parents and I primed her to get sad/depressed, and the episode triggered it. I noticed a few days ago that she seems sorta like the pony from the show, just in a different setting.

Rainbow Dash: And we're trying to avoid that, and...Normally, people say a risk is "the tulpa might have an existential crisis/try to live up to the character"; I think I'm having that in reverse--my host has the idea that "living up to the character" is inherently bad...he's trying to avoid potential legal troubles, should Hasbro's lawyer team ever find our progress report.

KM: Does anyone know how to do manes/tails? Also, I started this thinking that I'd get a corporeal copy of the Rainbow Dash from the show. Could it be that some part of me still wants that (as close as I can get)?

Heres some real, honest advice about a pony tulpa straight from FAQman.

"DONT."

You are not going to love this show forever and when you are 85 you are going to be sitting in a chair wondering why you created an eyesore rainbow pony.

I mean, I used to love the pony show. Now I cant stand the sight of it. If I had created a tulpa that looks like a pony back in 2012, I would be regreting it.

At the end of the day, its your life and tulpa, do as you will.

I just think its incredibly short sighted.

Well, I agree with you, but it's like going to a bar and telling people 'Do NOT drink!'. People aren't going to listen to you. They think that their infatuation is going to remain and their liking is going to be immortal. But I have seen some people who have pony tulpas who are really just like human/other tulpas, really. I love my tulpa and have a romantic interest, but that does not mean I am crazy way over my head with how she looks like, she's nice to have around and I love her in a moderate way. I think that you could compare this to how certain systems function, that well, having a pony tulpa isn't special in the context that having a tulpa overall is something you get used to. My tulpa once told me something; "Form matters so much, yet so little... it's ridiculous.", in a general context.

I know that you are right and no one set on having a pony tulpa will listen. I just wish people could see past the immediate future. Its clear that people who chose ponies want a Pony Friend more than just a friend and you also risk putting the tulpa themselves into a difficult spot. As you grow out of love with mlp, and you will one day, you will be forced to try and look past your tulpas form. But no one is that objective and chances are you will always remember how you dont like ponies as much as you used to. The tulpa will feel this and its probably going to cause guilt, self loathing, resentment, ect, ect.

Just put a little thought into it.

And thats a big reason you don't necesarely create a tulpa based on a main or secundary character and instead I choosed a background one, with no detailed personality

Back in the year, before I create Rose I read about this issue and just avoid the bullet completely

There is literally no reason to avoid doing something enjoyable now (and does't hurt anyone) that you may o not regret later.

Personally if I somewhat regret it with Rose I will think "Hey, those cuadrupes were a huge part of my life back then. Even if that was a cringe fest, I enjoyed it." and move on

For now I enjoy superior cuddles

I find this highly offensive as my tulpa and I share the best of cuddles.

(Just joking... only about being offended, though.)
