tulpatalk May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 I was wondering if I am alone in my position on this. I will never assign a name to my tulpa, rather, I will let her assign herself a name. I'm good at not using people's names in regular conersation, so I don't see that being a problem. Thoughts? [Note: Opinions]
Guest Albatross_ May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 My take on it is, name it if you like; If the tulpa doesn't like the name it will change it.
Eyeoftiger May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 I have assigned a title to my tulpa in order to ease talking to him, I'm hoping he will understand it's only a title and that he may create his own name. Name: Byrun Phase: Narration Integrated Personality Formation Form: Victorian era male human Personality: INTP with an obsession for axes and rapiers. Hoppip May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 since I've had the character I'm using for a tulpa for a while, her placeholder name has been "H" (since she was originally going to be in a game, where the player would enter a name) one day when I was just thinking of names that started with "H", I kept coming back to "Heather" and couldn't really get it out of my head according to dane, he had a similar thing happen when he started his tulpa and when he was done, it asked to be named that name so here's hoping mine will do something similar my chalupa's bio
Avalanche May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 I gave a placeholder name to my tulpa. It's just a little homage reference type deal thats small and cute. She can stick with it if she wants, but it's just a nickname really. frt
Torupiits May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 Currently I'm referring to her with Tulpa, and I will allow her to rename herself whenever she can. I actually start every session by telling her that whenever she is ready, I would be glad to hear her name. This way I hope her first words to me would actually be her name :)
Ned Bigby May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 I did originally pick out a name, but I guess they weren't really crazy about it, and liked the nickname I was using a lot more. Whenever I called them by the name I picked out, I wouldn't get any sort of response. When I called them by their nickname, I got responses more often. So now they're Honey. Guest May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 I just have a placeholder name like many others. Makes talking to my tulpa much easier. When she starts to talk herself, she can decide the name if she wants.
ThatOneGuy May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 Eh, I chose a name at first and she sort of approved of it, changing it to her liking. It was originally Clarisse, but she said that Clair suited her much better so I guess we both had our input. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches. Guest May 31, 2012 Share May 31, 2012 I chose a name, and I don't expect her to change it, but if she does, I won't mind.
