I'll probably listen to all of them. I love finding new music. You all have pretty good taste.

 

For me, a song that makes me think of tulpamancy in general is "Hello, How Are You?" a Japanese song that has been covered by many English-speaking artists. There are many versions, but my two favorites are by

. Though it's actually about an isolated little girl with social anxiety (just my interpretation) who finally makes a friend, I think it will resonate with a lot of other tulpamancers.

 

A song that makes me think of my tulpa, Quartz, would be

by Christina Perri. It's always been one of my favorite songs, and Quartz likes it too. He's a romantic person, unlike me... so he picked the song out for us while we were browsing my MP3 player. It's a really special song to me because of that.

Excerpt from the Book of Melian

 

Certain songs would remind me of her, such as Fantasy Girl by 38 Special (1981),

Mainstreet by Bob Seger (1976), Let's Go by The Cars (1979), Oh Mandy by

Barry Manilow (1978), Same of Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg (1980),

Dream Lover by Bobby Darin (1959). The lyrics for Fantasy Girl and Dream

Lover are specifically about an imaginary girl, while the others were just

great songs that strongly remind me of Melian. They were good songs I was

listening to as a teen and would conjure up images of Melian in my mind.

When I hear these songs I still get powerful emotions, just as if

remembering an old love.

 

EDIT: More recently it is the theme form "Shades of Gray." Don't ask me why, it came to me in a dream about Melian riding an alien elephant.

Wow, someone actually asking for tulpa-related songs that don't have to be tulpa-related... I've been waiting so long for this. Except I am very, very tired, so I won't be able to do the descriptions of their songs justice. Just know that music is and always has been extremely important to us, and also extremely essential to their development.

 

... Huh. The original video for Jumper, with Reisen dancing to it, is gone from Youtube, five years later. Well. It was a video and song that started the whole thing for me - it's where Reisen came from, where the idea of another person comforting me with love came from. Wish I could link it.

is what I'd have to call Reisen's song. The lyrics are a story of the Touhou character's time on the moon, striving for a better life and finally escaping to Earth. But mostly, it's just been the strongest feeling of "Reisen" I've ever gotten from a song. Listening to it to this day fills me with joy and helps me feel the love she sends me.. It's good.

 

is Flandre's song. It's more recent than the others', but when we found it she instantly fell in love with it. She says it makes her feel like we're a big family, and that she has an important role in it. To me, this song feels very strongly of her, and it's pretty heartwarming. Songs that help me feel my tulpas are pretty much my favorite songs period.

 

is Tewi's, though more by my preference than hers. 'Cus she doesn't really feel that closely tied to any song, opposite of Flandre. But, well, the lyrics are just good. Tewi has been a big help to me over the years offering advice I could never think of, and the lyrics to the song tie in nicely with the lore surrounding the Touhou character. It's just feel-good, this time around.

 

is Lucilyn's favorite by far. I dunno how to explain it, she just loves this song to death in every way. I'd heard it before her creation, but her own enjoyment of it rubbed off on me and now it's one of my favorite songs, too. Lucilyn's biggest dream is to dance in the rain some day. Many days? She'd live dancing in the rain if she could. I love rain and dancing is fun, but she's obsessed.. And I'm inclined to agree. There's something so joyously carefree about dancing in the rain..

 

Y'know, those weren't too bad. I'm like dead tired but I think that will do. These songs are very important to my tulpas and I, thank you for giving us a chance to share them.

I'll probably think of more to post here later but for now, Lindsey Stirling's cover of the Assassin's Creed III theme always reminds me of walking around Memphis with her.

 

Ok now that I have the laptop and this song has been in my head for a few hours.. the song U R Everything by Kitsune² is Kovie's favorite song. She likes chiptunes.

I think of Runa every time I hear

by Within Temptation. They're a Gothic/Symphonic metal band. For those who may not like metal, don't worry no screams or guttural singing in this subgenre... mostly, so it's safe to listen to XD.

 

The reason it reminds me of Runa is that I was listening to it when I got the first sign of her being there with me while forcing. It still helps me whenever I need that special push to force when I can't concentrate at all.

Hmm, this threads needs some weeaboo trash, and i'll be happy to oblige!

"Sorairo Days" from Gurren Lagann, favorite version being the cover by youtuber Sapphire. The song itself is just so inspiring and heartwarming.

No Game no Life's theme, "This Game", It fills me with determination! Listen to it and feel like you can take over the world!

Lastly, but definatley not least, Slayers "Get Along". This song is what led to the creation of my tulpa, so its is vastly important to me and her. [surprisingly, her favorite out of these is Sorairo Days though...]

 

As for something you might be a bit more familar with, Attack on Titan has a beautiful ending theme, "This Beautiful and Cruel World".

I have no idea why, but a lot of songs by weeknd I like to listen to with my tulpa / remind me of my tulpa, especially often and live for. I think it's because the weeknd is my favorite music artist and my tulpa just follows suit.
