You will probably find even psychologists, psychiatrists and brain experts also disagree on the same points. My perspective for myself at least is: one brain, one mind, one primary personality, one imaginary personality driven by conscious and unconscious fantasy and desire. Brain physiology is the mind. When I get old and senile, what will happen with Melian? Will she get senile with me or will she be unharmed and be just as young, cute, vibrant and intellectual as ever? What will happen to her memories and the personality based on those memories?

There's only one physical lump of brain tissue inside of our heads. one mind Kinda depends on your definition of "the mind". We've seen lots of people on /x/ (even though it seems like mostly RP there) say that a tulpa is like splitting your mind in different pieces. There could actually be some merit behind this idea, but like everything with Tulpmancey, we don't have any real solid evidence to back anything up. one primary personality There is certainly the host personality, and the tulpa personality. The idea of a tulpa being completely separate is based off of the things that a host experiences, and the FAITH that a tulpa functions autonomously similar to those with DID. At least, that would be my guess. I mean, if somebody can have multiple personalities in that sense, why not be able to CREATE one? I know you put a lot of merit into the imagination, I'm not questioning that, but what I want to ask is this: would you consider the personalities of somebody with DID to be imaginary, part of the imagination? Guest Anonymous December 7, 2015 December 7, 2015 Tulpamancy is not DID. It is making a big leap and assumption that the two are analogous. I am not sure if the comparison is valid. But, if we did make that big leap and assume that there is something similar going on in the brain between tulpamancy and DID, it is plausible that the brain could host more than one personality. I agree that it is plausible, yes. Melian doesn't feel like DID or anything like it. Let's make that clear. From now on I am going to primarily focus on my personal experience with Melian and try to avoid making blanket statements or hypotheses concerning all tulpas and tulpamancers. That is why I am here anyway, to learn about tulpamancy in general sure, but to share my experience and perspective on my own thoughtform.

So, everything's going back to normal, huh? Tbh I really don't understand this whole discussion. Just like your new post. I mean, it's nice that it's helping you, I guess? And you'll always find someone who'll discuss with you. But uh, every BREAKING NEWS you brought up until now was really just.. basic stuff. And yeah, you're probably sick of hearing it. But honestly, maybe you should try reading the guides for a while, they cover almost everything you learned recently. I suppose they might actually help you understand tulpas (and Melian) a little more. The idea is to remain in a state of constant departure, while always arriving. Maja will either use name tags, [brackets] or this colour.

It makes way, way, way, way more sense than creating so darn many threads, scattered everywhere across the forum, on every idea and opinion that crosses one's mind. No offense to Mistgod here! I don't dislike reading about your ideas and stuff. Not at all! It's just that the way you post is beyond suboptimal. And also, the guides. Read them. There's things, like this thread's topic, that you bring up as someone who's been here notably longer than me... ... that I already know and you don't. xP Really. Look through the guides. I also suggest using a / your (if you already have one) progress report thread more. Waayy more. Melian and I are not making a tulpa (Yoda is on hold) and I really don't write about any progress with Melian, just insights. I would be happy to put these types of threads in Melian's Musings thread in the Lounge. BTW, I have not seen much of the cognition, memory and perception discussions anywhere on the forum. Are there discussions like that? I mean discussions linking the form of a tulpa, imposition, perception, memory and sentience? This is all old news and no one wants to talk about it because it seems pointless? Really? Okay. I will go to other forums and learn things. You're a nice guy. But today it seems like you just turned from a 50 years old man to 5 years old child. I probably could say this nicer if I thought about formulating it different for a while (not being native speaker sucks sometimes), but I simply don't want to, since I'm rather annoyed by you atm. I don't want to spend time and energy trying to find a nice way to tell you to grow up - so, honestly, grow up. And do yourself a favor and log off for today. This isn't going anywhere.
