Even little sessions help. Perhaps instead of trying to do some monster of a 3 hour session couple of times a week you do little ones every day. I know I could never sit and force for 3 hours without breaks without getting so exhausted I could get nothing done. And no one's telling you to do sessions like that. Do sessions you can do, but give your tulpa some time every day, I'd say. You're the only one they got and waiting for you can get pretty boring and scary.

There's many tulpas like that, perhaps you would like to take a look at the vocal tulpa list in the progress reports part of the forum. If I remember right. There's even more than are sentient but not vocal or fully imposed.

The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)

Believe.

Why do I get the sudden impression that we're becoming a cult?

I think 'believe' needs a bit more defining here, in that doubting your own tulpa exists negates any progress you'd make. The point is to literally delude yourself into perceiving someone else being there, which can't be done half-heartedly. It's all mental, so saying it's not possible makes it impossible. After a fair bit of twisting logic and helpful brainwashing, giving yourself your own personal hallucination isn't that crazy... right?

If it's just 20 minutes a day, that's much easier to imagine. I'm generally up for several hours after the rest of my family goes to bed, so I should be able to get some time in then. Appreciate the advice, peeps. I'm generally open minded about anything that has some sort of logical explanation - if you told me it was some spiritual ghost living inside me I definitely wouldn't be posting here.

So yeah, thanks for the help, I'll check out some threads on the forums and get informed.

I would check out some of the guides on the guide section as well as read some progress reports. Good luck and welcome!

I would put a sadface here, but I'm not familiar with this forum's stance on 2-character messages.

Lucid dreaming is scientifically proven, so it didn't take more than an hour of googling to convince me that it's possible, but I can't find any evidence that tulpae are real at all.

Lucid dreaming can be artificially induced, and someone was willing to write a paper on the subject. Stephen LaBerge, the one who did the research, had access to equipment for monitoring brainwaves, eye movement, etc. The Tulpa.info community has none of those things. Also, lucid dreaming and tulpae both come from Tibetan Buddhism. If they were right about lucid dreaming, why not tulpae?

If it is possible, however, I'd like to ask a question related to the guides on the website: Is it necessary to have your eyes closed during the entire visualization and narration and such? It would obviously be hard to imagine something that isn't there standing right in front of you, so I'm guessing yes.

You don't have to imagine it as standing in front of you. You could imagine the tulpa as a presence in your head. One of the last stages of creation is imposition, that is, constantly visualizing the tulpa in the real world.

As for whether this is all a huge troll, think about it: someone has to pay to keep this site running. Do you really think there are many people who are willing to pay money to host a troll site about an obscure topic that most people only hear about because it is related to the slightly less obscure topic of lucid dreaming and Tibetan Buddhism?
