now we all know that traditional methods of security for things like computers,padlocks,ignitions/car doors,debit/credit cards are very safe and effective against host to host security. but that's not exactly what that thread is here for. this thread is for tulpa to host and host to tulpa security. since a tulpa can his or her hosts mind(and likewise) i think its important to note that those traditional methods of security aren't really effective to this new kind of threat. What are some new types of ways that companies will start making new security options effective against mindreading? or do you think you should leave your computers/doors/locks, etc open for your tulpa(s)? same goes for hosts...would you be willing to trust your tulpa or host with such private information? all in all though this whole tulpamancy thing really pokes a whole other angle in the possiblilities of identity theft and just theft/blackmailing/extortion in general.

This is one of the most craziest things I've read in a while.

Why would it be necessary to lock your tulpa out of your brain or physical places you're allowed to enter? How do you even get the idea that your tulpa would blackmail you or steal your identity? This isn't a threat at all, tulpas are no malevolent beings who want to sell your secrets for profit or something like that. So I don't see how companies would get involved in anyway, because there is simply no market for this to start with.

Well let's say tulpas would be commonly accepted beings with the same amount of rights as regular humans, it would surely would affect our laws and contracts, since you would officially deal with more than one person inside a body.

look im sorry to offend you or your tulpas, but the fact of the matter is that tulpas have their own motives and will try to use their hosts sensitive information against them if the right opportunity passes along. a smart person sees a little bit of an enemy in his freinds and family, a fool wholehearteldly trusts them.

but hey thats just my opinion so sue me.

Well the point is that you're wrong, heavily. Tulpas have no reason at all to do something like that. I see how they might want something enough to try to trick their host into it, but that's really about it. You're the one forming your tulpa and its main traits, so if you create a tulpa who wants to blackmail you, it would be your fault alone. Tulpas don't want to work against their host in the regular case, this is just paranoid.

What you've said might be valid for other thoughtforms like alters and other schizophrenic vices, but not for tulpas.

I won't continue this discussion, though. I've made my point and I'm aware that going on would be pretty pointless in your case.

We haven't tried it, but some people have said that they use symbolism to hide information from their tulpas. Considering that, you know, this is someone in your head that will likely be around for a long time, I've never really seen the point in it.

I don't even really know what to say to this.

We're usually the oddballs around here, but this thread is... sorry, being open here: It's ridiculous.

Yes, your tulpa will absolutely blackmail you or try to steal from you.

Or, in other words, your physical presence.

Y'know. The body your tulpa itself lives in.

Meaning the tulpa would blackmail or steal from - correct! ITSELF.

... there's so many ways of saying how completely ridiculous that is, but I won't go into it.

This thread is really... really nonsensical.

Sorry.

What the hell?

I'm pretty sure this is a joke. This has to be a joke, right? People can't read minds, let alone tulpas.

I don't think the OP is meant to be a joke. Also, I have seen reports from a few tulpamancers who have had issues with tulpas wanting to do things against the interest of the host. It may be unusual and rare, but it isn't unheard of here. The most frequent thing I have heard is a tulpa wanting to pull pranks on the host. Most of the time it isn't outright evil or intentionally harmful, just a bit of mean pranks at the hosts expense. So I can see some point in the OP. People have written about how to hide thoughts from a tulpa before on this forum. It isn't all that new. Just the angle and theme of the thread is a bit unusual. It is an interesting line of thought that a tulpa could "blackmail" a host. But why would a tulpa do that? What would there be to gain?

Also, don't give me ideas tulpamancer31. Hee hee

I'm pretty sure this line was about tulpas reading the mind of their host.

Define "right opportunity"? If my friend left his bank account logged in on his phone or something and I happened to see, I wouldn't steal all his money and remove him from my life, I would sign him out. Heck, I'd do that for someone I didn't even know.

If you've got trust issues then go ahead and take some precautions. But don't be rude about it, and don't assume everyone else does too.

Building upon how many people symbolize their subconscious mind (and therefore all memories/knowledge) as a huge library, it's also common practice to have the door to that library require a key. Normally people give that key to their tulpa when they're relatively developed so they can learn more about them, but no one said you had to do so. Keep the key, and then try to be friends. I don't see any enemy in my friends, and I've never been "betrayed", because I'm pretty good at selecting who I call a friend.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
