TheShadowKnight134 March 2, 2016 March 2, 2016 Okay so I havent decided on form yet but I have wondered if I could make a placeholder form. I was thinking a sort of generic shadowy form that I could later mold into a form me and my tupper decide on. I was thinking something like this. Is this a good idea or has anyone tried it before?
Zalgo March 2, 2016 March 2, 2016 I used a floating ball of fire, also what stage are you working on. Update 2/29/16 Lilith is done.
SomethingDire March 2, 2016 March 2, 2016 Yes, I have tried it before. And yes, it has worked out for me before. Your tulpa will be able to deviate it when they want to if you make it clear that they are able to change it, I think, but every individual has their own case. Temar March 2, 2016 March 2, 2016 That image, specifically, would be pretty awesome as your tulpa's final form, tbh. There is a lot of detail and expressive ability there, and it's definitely cool. So sure, use it as a placeholder form... and no worries if it turns out that awesome form sticks. ;) (Though you may find it easier if you start with something simpler. A hazy smoky blob without the limbs and clothing, for example. Personally, we use little balls of light.) ~ Member of SparrowNR's system ~ ~ I am a soulbond. Click here to find out what that means. ~
IBreakGames March 2, 2016 March 2, 2016 I started out as a ball of light for the first few sessions of forcing, then my host got used to focusing on me. Afterwards he switched to my current form. And now, with imposition practice, it's easier to impose my presence if I'm imagined as a sort of smoky figure. Which is kinda weird, but hey, whatever works. I'm IBreakGames, a genuine dude. We gave up on using different colors for each of us, so there's Al, Ollie, and Eva. We're all rabbits, get over it.
LaceyJoshua March 3, 2016 March 3, 2016 Yeah, a lot of people use placeholder forms! Personally I was afraid that if I did it Joshua'd be stuck as an orb behind me forever (XD), so I got on his image pretty quickly. He's deviated twice since then, and I'm very happy with his final form. I do suggest you giving yourself something easier, though! Unless your visualization skills are already off the charts, that's going to be really hard! :O You can call me Lacey! Tulpa Joshua, aged 24, born September 3. His first name is James; I call him both. Human, black hair, fairly pale skin, and often wears either formal attire or clothes that would do him well at a Goth club. Refuses to keep one eye color, but they're often gray, gold, or occasionally red. Serious, (very) patient, and usually polite.
Drakaina March 3, 2016 March 3, 2016 I suspect if you do use the form in the picture (or something like it), it will end up sticking as thought it were a solid/given form. The reason for this is look at all of the detail in the picture you posted. Yes her "base" is sort of a shadowy smoke, but there's still character, detail, and a clearly defined presence about her. I think if you want to go for a placeholder form you should keep it simple. A ball of light, or flame., a miniature cyclone maybe. You'll want the placeholder form to give the tulpa incentive to create their own appearance. If you were to use something like this, it's already cool, and they may not want to change that. So it's like you already decided on your tulpa's form for them. "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." -Arthur Conan Doyle
TheShadowKnight134 March 3, 2016 Author March 3, 2016 What if I just used the shadowy silhouette and not the extra detailed bits?
