That's good to hear, Pleeb. I guess most of us will have to wait another month, but at least we won't have to worry about it being too bad.

Well... damn, color me surprised, pleasantly so.

Especially so since it was about tuppers, but also - y'know, seeing any sort of "complicated" matter like that being treated well and professionally on TV...

... nowadays, that's just a very nice thing to see.

Yeah, I totally agree. Now I wonder if this will have some impact, like more people (quantity, not necessary quality) will hit our little forum.

She may or may not talk here, depends on her.

I expect us to get a few people flocking to the site out of curiosity, but I don't think it's going to have much of an impact.

Well, it's also just a nice thing to have such a positive public discussion on a professional basis.

For example, my sister is the only member of my family who knows about Rina, and then there's two other friends (one of which doesn't care, and the other one likes her) and the forum.

And my sister was always a bit worried and skeptical.

I talked to her about that show and how it went down in a positive way.

And lookie there, her responses to that were far more positive and interested than before.

Especially to people who don't want their headmates to just quietly live past the rest of the world like that, like me, it's highly valuable to have positive outside feedback like that.

It makes it easier to bring people to show some acceptance and interest since it wipes away a good portion of their worries and initial awkwardness.

I watched it, but I don't have permission to send out the video of it atm. However, it was really good, imo. It wasn't sensationalized and seemed like a pretty positive. They had a few authority figures on there (anthropologist that's been studying tulpas and a psychologist), both saying that tulpas aren't crazy and talking about them in a positive light. Even the host was making a note of how different KT and Isa are, and later follows up with saying "having a tulpa doesn't mean that you're schizophrenic or have a personality disorder." It certainly was dramatized but not sensationalized, mocked, made fun of, or anything like that.

There is an anthropologist studying tulpas? Wowy! See? We ARE getting the attention of science! That is amazing! OH I so wanna be closely studied! What will I wear for that? I can't wait to see this when we can. Neato.

I might be believing too much this old finnish saying "who has found happiness, should hide it" and just being plain negative thinking person but I'm bit worried that when media speaks more about tulpas (even in proper and scientific manner), there's just going to be more trolls, creepypasta and misunderstanding than new people that are genuinely interested in the thing.

Oh, I think there is quite some truth in this. But it is not like we could prevent the media from talking about it, so our best shot is to provide some quality information if they gonna talk about it anyway. I agree that we shouldn't provoke more attention than necessary.

That's sort of expected if we get any attention from, well, anywhere, and we've had waves of trolls before. I do agree that we shouldn't provoke attention.
