I have a bad feeling about this.

At least it isn't FOX News.

Same for me. I'm sort of thinking that this will end up like the Vice article, but who knows?

I wonder if this is going to lead to an overall spike in interest in this phenomena, or if it's just going to be another drop in the ocean. Prepare for an influx of traffic?

I thought otherkin was when the person themselves identified as non-human.

That's correct. Though sometimes plural systems have nonhuman members, which is what the shirt tagline for the show gives me the impression of.

Sadly the Fusion channel isn't aired in my state sI ill have to hope some one puts it online afree it airs.

I really hooe the station listened to the people they interviewed and doesn't sensationalize tulpa and their creators. Given the history of media with the therian, heck even the furry fandom, I'd say its wise to be wary of them. I'm holding oit some hope for this segment because fusion is a complete unknown tI me, and in my experience small reporters/producers tend to do a better job showing things as they are...or as close as tv gets any way.

"When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

-Arthur Conan Doyle

Look at the Adventure Time explanation of tulpas in that episode with the ghost girl or something (???). I'm sorry for making assumptions but given that people tend to say too much about tulpas and given how the media skews everything that's tossed at them to make the maximum profit and gain a high number of viewers all around, I'd say this isn't going to end well. Tulpamancy is always best preserved in intimacy. The experiences we go through are great because we don't really 'need' to fuel them with social contact with people who wouldn't understand, and even then, tons of people have different interpretations of tulpamancy.

A wise man once said: 'Before judging a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? He's a mile away, and you've got new shoes.'

Graced are those who could avoid this phenomenon. This is perhaps the worst expression of evil in humanity's history, but who am I to judge?

Honestly, it's gonna be the way it always turns out.

It's gonna be portrayed as either creepypasta bullsh*t, something to laugh at or something to weird the viewer out.

Why? Because that's the way TV works.

And creepy, funny and weird works better with the average huehuehue TV viewer than any sort of serious coverage...

... which isn't made better by how foreign and odd the whole concept is to "outsiders" (stupid word, can't think of a better one, though).

So... yeah.

Let's just be realistic here and dampen our expectations a bit.

... or a lot.

Look, just don't get too upset when they ultimately present it as described above.

Did anyone watch it?

Everyone checking this thread^

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

I watched it, but I don't have permission to send out the video of it atm. However, it was really good, imo. It wasn't sensationalized and seemed like a pretty positive. They had a few authority figures on there (anthropologist that's been studying tulpas and a psychologist), both saying that tulpas aren't crazy and talking about them in a positive light. Even the host was making a note of how different KT and Isa are, and later follows up with saying "having a tulpa doesn't mean that you're schizophrenic or have a personality disorder." It certainly was dramatized but not sensationalized, mocked, made fun of, or anything like that.
