Disillusionment Thread (stop lurking and post)

Recommended Posts

I'm not saying that switching can't work, I just think it's not as accessible a method for a lot of members. Maybe we just suck at it, but it takes my system a couple minutes to switch and we really have to concentrate on the process.

Ahh... I sometimes forget that not everyone here can do switching/possession as well as we have been able to so far. Practice makes perfect? I believe if you really want your tulpas to talk to your friends that badly, it should drive you to work harder at your goal of being good at switching. At least, that is my theory on why we picked up switching so fast.

What you could do as a compromise would be to switch and then just have the fronter relay the messages. And you could take turns doing it that way.

As long as it's clear who's fronting it wouldn't matter. As long as the people in the call agree on the method, you can do it however you like I suppose.

Maybe more important than having a standardized method is simply propagating the etiquette of discussing this stuff at the beginning of a call.

It would definitely be something to try out sometime with one of my friends... it just seems like proxying but verbally. Definitely something I have thought about before.

I mean, if this isn't what's holding us back then I guess it's all a moot discussion. I just felt like it was the biggest logistical issue.

Maybe people here are just hardwired to be anti-social (with some notable exceptions). Not much we can do about stuff like that.

I don't care one bit if it is moot, it gave me something to talk about so I'm content. I don't think it is the people here that is anti-social, I think just the atmosphere of forums in general make people want to just sit by and watch rather than participate.

I would love to get a regular gaming group together (even if it was just stuff like chess or whatnot).

I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER BEEN MORE ON BOARD WITH AN IDEA EVER IN MY LIFE- *ahem* As the avid gamers that we are, I think a gamer tulpa group would be just swell.

And on that note, I am going to bed. I shall respond to shiz later.

As much as I am not tired, it is 4 am here so I should probably get to sleep as well. Talk more tomorrow then

I wasn't even aware there was a /trash/ thread about Tuppers... thank you for sharing that, I'll have to check it out.

I'm not sure if you remember this, but we actually met on 8chan. You posted about your Luna and I posted about my Luna and thought it was odd how they had a lot of physical characteristics in common.

R.I.P. 8chan... you were horrible and nobody loved you. lol.

And yeah, I feel you about tuppers being finished and all that. I was hoping to make more solid connections with the people/tulpas here but it just never happened organically. And you don't want to force that kind of thing because it feels cringey to do so. But I guess this thread is a little cringey... so it's whatevs.

Also, if you ever feel like squeeing about a cute thing you can always send that shiz my way. I have the same urge and rarely get to express it.

We could even start a new cute things thread... idk man.

Luna: YOUR LUNA IS PRETTY AND I LIKE HER. Even though I was originally mad my name wasn't as unique as I thought it would be (I chose it before I knew how popular it was).

Luna: Aw, thanks ^^ I think you're pretty too, if I'm remembering your form correctly. And my host knew before he made me that there would be a lot of other Lunas, so he gave me a middle and last name. :) And the /trash/ thread is just okay honestly, there's a lot of shitposting that happens there.

I think part of the solution is just figuring out what people REALLY want to talk about and people like us making threads.

Also, why are there not more guides for stuff like socializing/teaching? Sure, we have a billion ways to create a tulpa and perfect sensory/switching stuff... but I think a lot of people forget that a tulpa is just like a kid that doesn't know the stuff an adult takes for granted.

Luna didn't know that the earth's core was molten/solid iron and molten rock and junk. She was completely blown away by that and it just slapped me awake and made me realize there were so many things she'd never seen/experienced before.

I'm definitely going to make a thread about tulpas learning new stuff and how they reacted to it.

It kind of shocks me sometimes how little Elise knows about the world, even though she's four now. I showed her one of those children's keyboards that makes silly noises and her response was along the lines of "That's silly. Why would anyone ever play with this?" She had also never seen a Slinky before up until recently, when I made her one and showed her how to get it to crawl down the stairs. My other girls are more savvy, since they're 11 and they've had enough imposition time to see the world, while Elise spends a lot of time playing in the wonderland.

And yeah, I think a tulpa Steam group would be good. Tabletop Simulator is a great one for hosts and tulpas to play together.

I can completely relate to this. Ya'know how many other Rainbow Dash tulpas there are? I can name at least 3 active users here with tulpas with the same name and form as me. Having a middle name helps so much in this kind of situation!!

That would be awesome! I should also boot up Tabletop Sim at some point, it's been forever since I last did

It's clear that I was meant to infer something from your post...

Were you talking about literally vocally proxying tulpas? Because in that case, all you can really do is say "{My tulpa} says..." Otherwise, I meant tulpas having their own accounts on tulpa.info is a pretty good alternative to using TulpaName:. It's not a requirement to switch or anything to have their own account. And the account switcher makes switching who's posting as easy as two clicks.

If you were talking about IRL-proxying, I don't know what to say, you can't really badge IRL so the best you can do is say it's what your tulpa's saying.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

And yeah, I think a tulpa Steam group would be good. Tabletop Simulator is a great one for hosts and tulpas to play together.

Well, that settles that. I'm going to make a Steam group later tonight and post a thread about it to add errbuddy that wants adding.

Yes I was. I see now where the confusion came from. But yeah, I was just saying that maybe the reason people don't ACTUALLY talk with one another is because we haven't really created or enforced any kind of etiquette for that (or at least, not that I was aware of. I admit it could be a thing and I simply don't know about it).

I guess just call it Voice Badging? If people want to get on teamspeak or skype or Steam voice chat it would be nice to have formal terms so we can explain it to newbies more easily and make the community more accessible in that way.

OR, as Nate pointed out, we could just "git gud" at switching.

I know that my tuppers often just want to share clever one liners and wouldn't put the effort in to fully switch for that.

While I don't want to discourage people (especially new members) from working on their switching skills, I do think it's easier to just Voice Badge.

I uhh... maybe should have clarified on what I was saying. We don't switch every time someone wants to speak, we just switch and have one of us talk to some friends and then do the same thing with a different tupper maybe the next day or so.

Why switch, It's easier to possess if you want to be in and out.

We found it actually easier to switch if you are doing verbal chats, rather than some weird possession of the voice. (Some people can do this, I don't know where even to start with that)
