Hm. Could you create a tulpa that is unaware of its own nature?

One who does not know it is a being within someone's mind - one that believes it's a normal human/nonhuman person who one day woke up in a weird place, unable to remember anything from its past?

One who is either unaware of your existence, or doesn't know that the overweight neckbeard that occasionally pops in, says something cryptic, and disappears mysteriously is something more than he appears to be?

I know that one tulpa wanted to kill (or was really scared) because it didn't know if it existed or not. But you could perhaps make a tulpa with an on/off switch, and switch it on after all the necessary stuff is done. Or perhaps reset their memory.

It's probably possible. Most things are possible when it comes to tulpas.

I'd guess it's much more likely to succeed if you instill firm beliefs in the beginning of their creation process that they are definitely human, and any tulpa things they experience, like bleeding thoughts/memories, are definitely not real, and that only a crazy conspiracy theorist would believe in such things.

Basically, disinfo the shit out of them.

This is all just idle speculation, of course. It could very well be much more difficult, to the point that some parts of your secret just can't be hidden without you being a really unfair DM. (Wiping memories, downright steering them away from any answers they try to look for, etc.)

When I put it like that, this sounds like a game...

The above post does not contain facts.

q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.

That reminds me, did Maya first know that she was a tulpa? She did have all those fake memories that made her suicidal, but did she know what she was yet the memories seemed like they happened to her or did she think she was "real"?

Anyways, not letting them know what they are would be kind of a jerk ass thing to do.

Wiping memories

Ah, but that was one of the things I was thinking of.

"(long personality forcing)..."

"...You have access to all the knowledge of a pretty good graduate of middle school. You do not remember anything from your life before you wake up. You can vaguely recall schools, some idea of a street where you lived, perhaps family, but it's all a blur. You know that you are named [some name], that you lived in Los Angeles for your entire life, that your life was that of a typical human; but beyond that, you do not know anything, and you certainly aren't sure how you ended up in this hotel."

"You will not be aware of me. You will not be able to see me, hear me or perceive me in any way, even as I read your thoughts. I will be completely unable to control your body or voice, though; that is entirely up to you. You will not be able to hear my thoughts or feel my emotions; your mind will be entirely separate from mine."

"From now on, you will lie down asleep, with no dreams. When I command you to wake up, you will do so, and will immediately cease to remember me, this conversation, your nature and origins, and anything that has truly happened to you before you awoke; you will have memories you will accept as real."

Not sure if it would work but... the possibilities... Yeah, it would be unethical, but the possibilities...

Make a couple of unaware tulpae of various genders, put them into e.g. some kind of an empty hotel in the middle of nowhere... then just observe.

I can imagine unscrupulous authors using these to find out how would a human being really react to strange situations. Like, meeting nonhumans face-to-face... having your body transformed overnight... and later on, you publish a novel noted for its very psychologically real characters, and nobody suspects a thing. For added fun, publish your novel under the pen name Pickman.

Maya did not know she was a tulpa. I did try to convince her that she and the wonderland were real. So yeah, it's possible to do this, but it's an irresponsible and cruel thing to do.

WTB: Rare Tulpas

Sounds like a waste, but yeah. You could easily mess it up and they'll remember and know you, but you could do it.

As horrifying of an idea this is, I'd imagine it would get boring after a while. But what'll happen when they try leaving your proximity, or go beyond the limits of your memory?

Worst case scenario, they simply fall off an endless void where the memory of your hometown ends, and the moment you see the area just beyond where they fell, they are "paved over" by the new memories. But they're still falling, of course. Horrifying.

An abstract, all-encompassing love is still a love, nonetheless.
