solarchariot February 8, 2019 February 8, 2019 OKAY, very random, explanation for why we (society) have not seen active signs of extraterrestrials. Concepts to know in advance, Dyson Spheres, The Drake Equation, (not the duck the equation, which is just a foul joke...) and the Great Filter... The next projected leap in technology for us would have to include an increase in tech that would allow us to go 'interstellar.' Traveling at relativistic speeds always result in time travel because space/time is inseparable. The Great Filter is not that alien species reach a point where they 'blow themselves up,' which would leave tangible evidence (if we nuked our planet to oblivion, someone would see evidence of that, even if it's in the future because the light radio transmission would be very specific..., which also means we would see evidence of this if other aliens blew themselves up...) the great filter is traveling back in time and erasing self/species from the timeline complete! If we don't erase ourselves, we would tweak our timeline/technology in such a way that we all arrive at the ideal future... enclosing our star within a dyson sphere... we would exist, but there would be no evidence that we exist because we would be building the dyson sphere in our past... all sentient species do this, and we don't see or hear them because there star went 'dark' enclosed before we had eyes and telescopes to see!
