So today I did my first bit of shopping in the women's section and I want to talk about it!

 

I needed new socks because my old ones are wearing out, and I thought this would be a good opportunity to buy women's socks! First I looked up shoe sizes: I wear a men's 11, and apparently to find the equivelent in women's sizes you add one and a half sizes, so I am a size 12 in women's at least. I knew this was going to be difficult--larger than average feet run in my family; even my sister, who is a cis woman, is a tad insecure about her foot size, and mine are bigger than hers.

 

So I go to the mall and go to the JC Penny's. It's funny, all the different kinds of clothes there and there are almost no socks, and I see the same thing on all of them: Size 5-9. Nothing but 5-9, way too small for me. I went to Macy's and the same thing happened--tiny selection, all 5-9 or 4-10. So I was starting to get a little upset and I became worried that they just didn't make women's socks big enough for me without going to a specialty store or looking online. But I decided to go to Target and give it one more try. At Target there were more socks, though still less than I would have thought there would have been, and at first I only saw 5-9 or 4-10 socks. But then, finally, I saw a bag of socks marked size 8-12. Just one pack. They were sport socks, perfect for my very active job and my walks, and the toes and heels were a variety of cute colors. I knew I had a winner!!!

 

 

I am so thrilled about these socks because I can wear them right now; with my shoes on nobody can tell, but I will always know. And if I ever feel down or sad at work I can just think to myself "I'm wearing cute women's socks" and be happy about it!

I have almost worn them all! The order I've worn them has been:

 

Sunday: Purple

Monday: Light Blue

Tuesday: Dark Green

Wednesday: Lime Green

Thursday (Today): Orange

Friday (Tomorrow): Magenta

Little life update: This morning I had my HRT appointment and tomorrow I'll be going to the pharmacy to pick up my Estradiol prescription!!!!

 

While I was at work today it started to hit me in waves: the realization that this could be the last full day I spend as 100% a biological man. It was such a joyous and exciting feeling! Everything I've been doing so far has just seemed like play compared to this--going by a new name online and such. But this is real. Things are going to start happening!

 

Also, I want to announce that I am going to do a face reveal....in 2027! lol. I want to do a before-and-after to show everyone what two years of changes look like. I don't have any problems in principal with showing my face now, but I think it would be more fun to wait until two years on hormones have gone by and I'm hopefully very femme-presenting!

 

So that's all for me, and I'll turn it over to Simmie so she can talk about which image she wants to use for her avatar.

Wow, the art is so amazing. I think they all look stunning, so I'm not going to try to pick one. I admit I'm a teeny bit jealous of your avatars. My host consciousness and I tried to avatar me early on, but we couldn't get one that looked enough like how I appear in our mind, so we sort of gave up.
