SSaint September 19, 2012 September 19, 2012 they start to listen out for that tiny voice inside their head that comments on their actions, such as “that wasn’t a good idea” when you do something stupid. Once they pick out that voice, they start talking back to it. Eventually that voice will start talking back. Doesn't everybody do this? I know I'm not the only person who has an internal dialog, and this is the crux of it. Also I don't like the idea of settling on a form that represents your personality. I do not think I will be the same person 1 year from now, let alone decades, and I doubt very much that I will ever stop changing. “There is not enough love and goodness in the world to permit giving any of it away to imaginary beings.” -Friedrich Nietzsche
Bask September 19, 2012 September 19, 2012 Also I don't like the idea of settling on a form that represents your personality. I do not think I will be the same person 1 year from now, let alone decades, and I doubt very much that I will ever stop changing. Thats another thing people don't wrap their head around. Yes its true people change. But your personality is the most pliable when you're young, as you're gaining the tools for your adult life and how to solve problems. As you age, there are generally lets traits added to yourself or you simply grow into the ones you have. And you rely on problem solving skills you have learned. You can still be molded but you're more like nasty crusty platdoh that doens't do much anymore. That being said we understand that life traumas of extreme degrees to impact the personality. We don't believe your personality at i.e. 18 is the one you're going to have for life. We are a personality typing system. Like MBTI, Ennegram etcetc. Which why we use one animal.
glitchthe3rd September 19, 2012 September 19, 2012 Doesn't everybody do this? I know I'm not the only person who has an internal dialog, and this is the crux of it. No, but many people do have internal monologues. And the way I see it, having an internal dialogue is a lot like playing chess against yourself, which is to say you're actually just parroting back and forth to yourself. And yes, I used to be an internal dialoguer like you, but then I took a tulpa in the brain and became a tulpaforcer :P "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Bask September 19, 2012 September 19, 2012 I disagree. My daemon's dialouge isn't my own.By your terms he's very much sentient. How is it you call it parroting when we do nothing but use the same methods you guys use for 'talking mentally'.
glitchthe3rd September 19, 2012 September 19, 2012 Talking to your daemon/tulpa/whatever we're calling them this week isn't the same as what SSaint was describing. One involves talking to a sentient being that's in your mind, the other one is basically just playing mental chess with yourself (for lack of a better analogy). Although the two are rather closely related, they're not the same (at least to me). These are just my opinions btw, I didn't mean to offend. Natasha September 19, 2012 September 19, 2012 I'm glad there isn't any kind of animosity or ridicule here, which I on all honesty was expecting as its what we get with us and the rest of the internet. But yeah, your community is pretty young. I suspect that as time moves on a lot of older ideas will be replaced. Good to know someone has faith. First time i saw this forum (a few months back) the first thread was "one of those" pony threads and i just instantly closed the tab. De bedste og smukkeste ting i verden kan hverken ses eller røres, de må opleves med hjertet.
Bask September 19, 2012 September 19, 2012 @Glitch: OIC, then that was me tripping up on your wording. Wtf is butthurt, being offended doesn't come easily to me. XD
TulpaCouple September 20, 2012 September 20, 2012 There's really not that big of a difference, just we have a whole culture attached of form finding vs creating a form. That and daemons I've noticed are a little more enterally intune with people. I.e. My daemon complains that he's tired when I need sleep and go to bed, or says he's hungry when I am and for me get some fucking takeout you limp noodle to go eat. Generally small things internal vs external and other dumb shit. And they don't have to get taught things again they know to our brains extent, I've noticed its a trend to teach things or withhold memories or 'tulpa can turn' unless this notion is outdated. Daemons however have access to all these things already. You guy's whole process of feels so unnecessarily complex though, and it seems a lot of people are worried about doing stuff wrong oO I think that will steamline with time though as your community grows. Its sort of just potato potahto. Tulpa, mental flygia, soulbonds, headmates, daemons are basically the same communicative thing just all under different names. I find this interesting. When I first heard about tulpae I immediately thought of Daemons because the idea so intrigued me when I read the books as a kid. I wanted my tulpa to have that element--somewhat of a spirit animal/companion. I even tried to make him a real animal. Of course he had other ideas and morphed into something new just about every day until he settled on his current form. But I noticed he is very internal as well--he sleeps when I do(and when I want to sleep but can't he ends up actually falling asleep. He's very in touch with my own body's clock) and is with me more often than he is in the wonderland(though he enjoys it when there is just nothing better to do) My fiance and I both decided not to limit our tulpae either, we let them know who they were and who we were from the beginning and gave them full access to our minds. I think most of the complex stuff comes from early on ideas. Right now it's pretty much visualize your form, understand it's personality, talk to it. That's mostly it. All the personality ideas and visualization techniques vary from person to person. Some people don't work on personality, some do. I sort of did but it was more for me than it was for him. I believe most of the tulpaforcing process is enabling us to hear them. The different techniques are there to help us sooner perceive them if we struggle with it. I believe tulpae can be sentient from the very beginning, and both my tulpa and my fiance's tulpa were. It just depends on how long it takes your mind to wrap your head around the concept.
FigN01 September 20, 2012 September 20, 2012 I didn't even expect someone from that community to show up here, but I'm glad it happened. So, two things- Since you say that you really like the visual techniques here, how do they differ from what methods users on the daemon forum tried to employ? Did they just not have any, and did that make it harder for users? And I would assume that having one sentient expression of your subconscious is pretty much the limit when it comes to daemons, but here it seems like once someone has a tulpa, the only logical thing to do is make another. Or see them appear out of nowhere. Or have the current one give birth to that tulpa. All kinds of weird stuff. Under the daemon belief system, would multiple thoughtforms be possible, and do you see our practice any differently as a result?
Bask September 20, 2012 September 20, 2012 Bear with me this is being typed on a Fone XD Generallly you guys emphasis practicing visual form inside and out, and keep up with it. We mention such things but not in any depth. Practice never hurt anyone ;3. My daemon is pretty much crystal clear in my environment but I love the idea of keeping up practice and noting progress. It doesn't make it harder, I suppose, as we usually encourage newbs to partake in our menotoring system that answers questions like that. But I think it would be beneficial to get the community talking about it in more detail. While we don't have a huge system... puppeting is like nonexistent with us as far as I know. Daemons are solitary as they have one settled form to represent the human. BUT that's not to say people only have one thing in their head, just the thing with the.symbolic form gets the title of daemon. Its all in personal taste, and I know quite a few people in our community have 'headmates' in depth and degree to tulpa.lmao i haven't seen anything as weird as birth, but I've seen headmates with daemons as well :9
