Well. So. Prepare for it tl;dr'ers. Okay.

A daemon is nothing different than a tulpa. While at first you say "Wait, Jabre. Why can't it be just a tulpa that hasn't had its mind schism go all the way, causing it to simply be a conscious embodiment of your subconscious?" and I'll tell you why. Because a daemon can be a recurring dream character (dream guides/ spirit guides), it can be a wonderland servitor (with a... I guess... heavily "ego-dead" sapience), or it can be an actual imposed hallucination. Here's where the shit goes awry. A DC would be fine because it is just your pure subconsciousness with no conscious processes contaminating it. Well, actually it would be conscious because you are, and it is a process coming from your mind, not the other way around. From the daemon standpoint I guess the dream itself would be considered conscious, but let's not complicate things. And a wonderland servitor would be fine because... oh wait. It wouldn't. You can't say that it is "only a daemon, and not fully an independent entity" because once you spend about 20 hours NARRATING to your "daemon" it would do the same thing a to-be tulpa would. It would become sentient. Now it is a tulpa. Fuckshit. While you can spend enough time with a DC to make it become a tulpa, it is less likely as the wonderland or imposition daemons. Same thing with the imposition. You will eventually and inevitably "tulpify" your daemon, thereby furthering the connection between your hasbeen daemon/newly tulpified and the subconsciousness. Now. Here's how to put it visually:

Daemon:

Host Consciousness

|

Super Ego (moral filter)

|

Ego (response)

|

ID (stimuli)

|

Daemon

|

Subconsciousness

and...

Tulpification:

Tulpa Cons. Host Consciousness

| |

Tulpa Super Ego Super Ego

| |

Tulpa Ego Ego

| |

Tulpa ID ID

| |

|___________ Daemon No More

|

Subconsciousness

soooooo.....

As you can see, narration kills your daemon. Or rather... brings it to life.

Because they don't think it's a spiritual thing. They think it's psychological like us.

This. Most people with daemons tend to see them along the lines of either just an imagery friend or a mental construct basically like a tulpa as they are defined on this forum. For the latter experience/opinion of a person's daemon, one could say in the view of this forum, I guess, they have a tupla that specifically been created to act like a daemon.

I was more accustomed to daemons being a spectral or almost magical being. That only from books though so I can't say much.
