Frosty September 10, 2012 September 10, 2012 Okay. I have a feeling that someone was lying to me. What happened if a tulpa suddenly disappears? Who was lying to you and why do you think so? I'm kinda curious. And a tulpa suddenly disappearing happens from time to time. What happened before said tulpa disappeared and at what stage is the tulpa in its creation? Tulpa's name: April Form: Human female Working on: Stuff My Progress Log "A belief is not merely an idea the mind possesses; it is an idea that possesses the mind." ~ Robert Oxton Bolton
Pashoo September 10, 2012 September 10, 2012 Also, it seems that most people experience a "slump" later into forcing, where everything suddenly feels weaker and it feels like most of their work has regressed.Once they get past that point, though, everything becomes even clearer than before. Just wanna note that that stage is gonna come eventually. An abstract, all-encompassing love is still a love, nonetheless.
Phi September 11, 2012 September 11, 2012 Or they just have a wild imagination. I went into this with a crummy imagination, and I've had some pretty wild thing happen if I get into a near-dream state and then enter an unexplored area with only a vague idea of what will be there. Dream logic applies; things seem consistent when I'm there, though when I later review it some things no longer make sense, or the most obvious solution to a problem didn't occur to me. What I get isn't as wild as some of what I've see here (like glitch's stories), but I'm pretty sure that's about where I'd be if I had daydreamed heavily for the past decade rather than almost not at all. I also have a tendency to teleport myself and Lyra out if things get too weird since then I worry something might happen to her (most of this was before starting on Eevee). OTOH most fiction I've seen, even wacky stuff, doesn't have the same feel to it as the near-dream adventures I've had. So when I read progress logs that feel sorta dream-sequence-like to me, I tend to believe them. As for telling when someone's lying, you can't really. Though there was a person back in the /mlp/ days who was known to be not lying. He said a couple things about the experience of having a tulpa that weren't obvious, before either of the guide makers (the only other people really accepted as having a tulpa at the time) had said anything about it. Are we talking about the same thing here? I'm talking about post-imposition stories of tulpa, who are already imposed, splitting into two, etc. It's possible, but there's a limit to how much I'll believe happens on a daily basis. It's like I'm watching one of those bad reality television shows. Again, that's not the only way to tell if somebody is lying, and in fact some people do do that and aren't lying. But when somebody jumps into the shoutbox and interrupts an academic conversation, or interrupts somebody helping somebody else, in order to tell them a story about what just happened, then I'm skeptic. Even if they're telling the truth, the fact is that they're attention grabbing at the expense of another member who potentially needs help. Keep it in the progress reports guys. Okay. I have a feeling that someone was lying to me. What happened if a tulpa suddenly disappears? It depends what stage they were at. If it's after they become vocal, it's probably just the quiet period. If it's after imposition, then it's a little more complicated. Some tulpa seem to just go on 'vacation', sometimes even without telling their creators, and come back later. If the creator has been ignoring them, then they could have 'starved' after about a month of being ignored. They can still come back if the creator starts to pay them mind again, but from what I read it takes a little bit. If they disappear before they're vocal, then it could be laziness of the creator, lack of focus, or any number of things. The tulpa is probably still there, though, it's probably just the creator.
QB2 September 11, 2012 September 11, 2012 It's possible, but there's a limit to how much I'll believe happens on a daily basis. This is the main indicator for a fake tulpa, I'd say. In my own thought processes, anyway. (Though I don't like to assume a tulpa is "fake".) Every tulpa's going to have "I just did x thing that defies physical laws, it was really fun" moments at some point, but if they're doing this so often it seems like a big nonstop "Look what I can do! Look what I can do!" every day... that just doesn't happen. In most circumstances. Because, you know, oddly enough, most tulpas spend most of their time doing normal everyday things that everyone else does. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
Guest ThunderClap September 11, 2012 September 11, 2012 Most people with fake tulpae toot their horn about how they're imposed after 8 hours and don't stop talking about said thing for about 12 days straight. Oh and they turn into tulpa-zealots if you disagree with one thing they say.
