horsetulpamancer June 27, 2022 June 27, 2022 As the title suggests, there are no broad mental health resources that are free and easy reach. All the local resources in my area are to combating “depression and anxiety”. Not other debilitating mental issues, which some people might not even know the name of or how to describe it, it’s very biased towards people who are scared/sad, not others who are aggressive, impulsive, cold, disconnected, or otherwise mentally ill. I feel very disconnected and there are 0 RESOURCES that provide or cater to me, so much for fucking tax dollars if it’s just to stop people from hanging themselves.
Slipper June 27, 2022 June 27, 2022 It seems like depression and anxiety are seen as "safe" mental illnesses, where the afflicted are seen as sympathetic, while other illnesses are hidden away and are seen negatively. Everyone deserves a right to be helped, even if their symptoms manifest in more harmful ways. Slipper (cringelord host) and Mordecai (the brain gremlin). Art Thread Progress Report
Luminesce June 27, 2022 June 27, 2022 Depression certainly gets the most attention. The main human resource for everything else is seeing a therapist or psychiatrist. Non-human resources though, you should still be able to find information about most disorders online. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
Glaurung26 June 27, 2022 June 27, 2022 Most worthwhile things in life can require significant effort, research, legwork or sadly, money. Low income and impoverished areas are usually hit the hardest. When it comes to anything relating to you, you are always the foremost expert. Unless you are in a physical or mental state so incapactitating you can't think or make decisions for yourself. So since your decisions ultimately come down to you, you owe it to yourself to find the most accurate information and assistance you can. Your mileage will vary depending on circumstances and the thing in question. Education is maybe the most important thing in mental health. That and having the willpower and desire to change yourself. You are here, so you have access to the internet. Study up and get yourself as much free learning as you can. Stick to reputable sources. Check the reviews and ratings on your information sources. Professionals can be very helpful but your mileage will vary. I find that the more specific the question, the more specific the answer you will get. Learn about the problem as much as the solutions to it. It gives you a better plan than "I dunno, fix me."
