Guest Albatross_ May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 This one's sort of a double whammy. Someone with a tulpa should go to a psychic/fortune-teller and get them to read your mind. I'm curious to see if a psychic could detect your tulpa. If they could that would speak volumes for A) the veracity of psychics and B) the schismatic nature of tulpæ.
Chupi May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 Alas most (if not all) psychics are bullshit. They use "cold reading" techniques -- say things that are true of almost everyone, and lead you on with any info you give them. Pleeb May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 It would be interesting, actually. I'd also like to see the results with those people who say they can sense ghosts and whatnot. I remember in Introduction to Psychology at Uni, my professor was talking about how Psychics pretty much do what you said. This one girl was like, "But I get my sign every day and it's always right, and I go to the psychic," etc. He smiled and looked at her for a moment then smiled. And he said something like: "You're the time of girl who's usually misunderstood, aren't you? And, I predict that you're having trouble at home, possibly with your parents." Her eyes got all wide and she was all, "HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT? AND YOU WERE EVEN RIGHT ABOUT MY PARENTS, I JUST HAD AN ARGUMENT WITH THEM!" Sadly she didn't get his point, she just thought it was scary and that he must be psychic. Spoiler An image in a signature behind a hidden tag!

Chupi May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 It would be interesting, actually. I'd also like to see the results with those people who say they can sense ghosts and whatnot. I'd be willing to try such a thing once mine is done. It would be especially interesting if they identified it as a "young spirit", as Bio reported his grandmother saying to him on the IRC. "You're the time of girl who's usually misunderstood, aren't you? And, I predict that you're having trouble at home, possibly with your parents." I need to practice coming up with this sort of statement off-the-cuff. I mean I can do it, I just suck at bullshitting. Legitimate telepathy takes tons of experience to be able to perform, and loads more to perform accurately. If you did manage to track down a legit telepath, say over IRC in one of the communities around the web, I'm sure they'd give you a scan. For free. Unlike all the phonies around. They should be able to detect the other mind that's around you. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.

All the places I've seen are filled with obvious RPfags and clueless noobs. Once located, how would I get their attention without revealing what I want them to tell me, or looking like just another person trying to get a free reading? Also does this sort of thing work remotely, or needs to be in person? ThatOneGuy May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 What you're speaking of is called frontloading, and the experienced people around do indeed attempt to avoid it. I can point you to a community, they have IRC details on their site. It can sometimes take a little bit for the IRC channel to get active, but generally people will help you once you get in there. Be sure to ask for both a general scan, and once that specifically looks for abnormal things. Also ask for a scan of the area around you. Try not to sound too beggy and pleading, and tell them why you wanted the scan after they do. I can't really do specific telepathy scans since that's not the route I took with my practice, but I can do general. Of course, now that I'm frontloaded I can't do much of anything but there you go. If you don't want to use the IRC channel you can also use the forums. Link to the site: http://psionguild.org/ A couple of the really experienced people on the forum are Pat McDonald, Goldenpsi, NoMad, Daimon, and WingedWolf. Keep your eye out for them. It works remotely; you can scan people over the internet very easily actually. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
Chupi May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 Wow! I'll definitely do that once my tulpa is farther along. (Currently she's sentient and the past 2 mornings I think she sent me a few thoughts -- words without any mental voice. Before doing this, at the very least I'd really like her to be able to talk all the time.) tulpatalk May 29, 2012 May 29, 2012 Hmm. Since I'm hardly in the process, I might do a before and after reading or whatever it's called, to see differences. [Note: Opinions]
