DrStrange November 30, 2012 November 30, 2012 As i said in other thread, most of the legend like Tesla or Beethoven probably had a Tulpa. Just saying... Many of them have traveled all over the world, and often ended up in the East...
Kadoh November 30, 2012 November 30, 2012 Tesla may have had a tulpa But I have a tulpa name Tesla. My opinions are all subject to change.
Kimnd November 30, 2012 November 30, 2012 The man stopped his career because he was insane; he fell in love with a pigeon for the same reason. You are drawing conclusions from nothing. Just because he was alone, does not mean that he made a tulpa. Hallucinating a pigeon (or even recounting things erroneously) does not point to a tulpa. (Assuming that this recount accurately reflects Tesla's experience) Maybe he was just hallucinating the pigeon, but that's missing the point. He also had a strong emotional connection to her, and seemed to not be in control of her. Her feelings of dying and sadness seemed to be (mostly) disconnected from his own mental state, since he said that he felt happy because she existed. That would make it seem like she wasn't just a reflection of Tesla's own being. The question we aren't asking is; is a tulpa defined by the process of it appearing? Is a tulpa something the host needs to actively create, or can it simply appear unbidden by the host? Accidental tulpas exist, of course, but usually that requires a creator having already made at least one tulpa. But Tesla was no ordinary person. His brain was far more powerful and efficient than anybody elses' on this forum, so I see no reason to doubt that it could accidently create a tulpa without him even being aware of it.
Koji December 1, 2012 December 1, 2012 Tesla, on numerous occasions, wrote about how his vision would suddenly fill with geometric shapes, completely solid. I assume this is what you're talking about, on a different level. Also, schizophrenic hallucinations, as he seems to be experiencing, are different than tulpa hallucinations, in the simple fact that one is self-induced, and the other is experienced from birth. http://tulpa.info/forums/Thread-Koji-and-Catelyn-Of-Deserts-and-Snowmen

waffles December 1, 2012 December 1, 2012 Kimnd: you can be attached to a mere hallucination. The fact that he was in love with the pigeon gives no basis to his having a tulpa. Hallucinations aren't usually under your control. Of course he couldn't control the pigeon, because he wasn't voluntarily hallucinating it. Yes, tulpas can be accidentally created. But they still have to be sentient to be defined as a tulpa, and there's no reason to believe that his pigeon was. Moreover, if Tesla was so capable then you'd think the pigeon tulpa would have become vocal quite quickly, and yet speak it did not.
waffles December 1, 2012 December 1, 2012 Devil's advocate: Because he didn't believe it could. Were it a tulpa then it would probably be able to speak for itself. Already having visual hallucination would presumable enable such a tulpa to speak via auditory. The host's belief doesn't factor in so much after creation; if we assume that the tulpa was already sentient and mature (it was imposed, as it were) then we'd think that it could do things for itself.
Dethas December 1, 2012 December 1, 2012 Well, I think the whole idea is plausible, but I don't think it is very likely that it was a tulpa. I think it was more likely that the pigeon was something else, as it was said, Tesla was insane...
