Also, I'll be doing the west wall.

The south wall has the river, right? So there would be no point in the wargs coming from that direction because the river is laced with silver. And let's hope you find a faster way to do it than I.

And please, call me G.

Good, because some dude on the south could assist the east.

All in all, it had taken her about eleven minutes to set up. The location could not have been better. It was narrow, dead-end street flanked on both sides by old, abandoned, buildings with shallow alleys between each. The road itself came to a stop at a high wall. The shadows were heavy, and visibility was low. Each of the buildings was at least two stories high with plenty of handholds. This was good.

Miah peered out from behind a door of one of the abandoned structures. The Moon light played across the main street from which the other diverted, but inside the alleyway the houses loomed high and blocked out the glow. A cool wind blew, tossing a few stray leaves across the street. Miah watched as they passed. They were so care-free, so accepting of the moment. It was quite an exemplary quality.

Miah took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and emptied her mind. She had learned long ago that it was best to fight in a mindful state, thinking of nothing and being in the moment. It was simple, instinctual action and reaction. As an extension of meditation, it was quite useful.

A few more moments of breathing passed. The woman relaxed. Then she screamed.

--------------

A small squad of guards ran through the dark streets, on their way to reinforce the east wall. Their armor clanked and echoed down the streets. In the distance the snarls of beasts could be heard along the voices of brave, scared men. Bedlam lay ahead, and they were charged to meet it head on, despite the misgivings in their minds or the churning in their stomachs.

Then, a scream. A woman's. Had they made it this far into town somehow? Someone should go check. Who would be the lucky fellows to escape the beasts ahead? Two men were chosen, an amour plated knight who seemed more metal than man, and a rifleman who seemed half worth his salt. Relieved, the two started off towards the scream.

Down the street. It must be this way. No, the other road. Perhaps here, perhaps there. Wait. Sobbing. Down the alley. There. Listen. The two men started slowly down the small, dark street. The sound became louder as they moved away from the main road. From behind a door, the sound of a woman crying. She must have been quite shook up, gasping for air as she was. Best to be gentle with her. Removing his helm so he would not startle her further, the knight moved to open the door.

"Miss, it's alright now. We're here to help yo-"

[Roll for Strength (D20): 12]

The door crashed into the man's face, breaking his nose and sending him stumbling backwards. A hooded figure rushed out of the doorway. She was on the rifleman before he could bring his weapon to bear.

The guard attempted the use the butt of his rifle and smash it into the figure's skull, as he had been trained, but it was no good. It was too dark and she was too fast. Ducking under the rife jab, the ranger hooked her hand around the gun and stepped past the man, bringing the weapon with her. The gun was wretched out of the man's hands. The huntress then shifted her weight, swinging around as she allowed the gun to slide through her hands, catching it at the very tip, effectively maximizing its momentum. The end of the weapon smashed into the guard's head with all the force physics would allow. He crumpled to the ground, a testament to the how understanding could make up for brute strength.

The hunter then turned her attention to the hefty man encased in metal. He had recovered by now and had brought his sword and shield to bear. The hooded woman grinned. Leaping over the incapacitated rifleman, she attacked

The barrage began with a flying kick to the chest. The man stumbled back a bit, but was relatively unharmed. Then a few quick jabs with the gun to the knight's chest. Giving little ground, the knight took only a step or two back, beginning to laugh at his enemies futile efforts. The hooded woman swung at the man's vulnerable head. A mistake. The knight simply stopped the blow with his shield, then returned the favor from earlier by smacking the ranger with the wall of steel. The woman spun to the ground, carried by the force of the blow, and hit the stone hard. She seemed to be done for.

Reveling in his victory, the knight kneeled down to get a better look at his attacker's face. Pulling away the hood, he gasped. A pale haired woman lay on the ground, and her sharp blue eyes were staring straight at him. The woman was still awake!

[Miah rolls Strength(D22): 8]

[Knight rolls Agility(D21):11]

Then she kicked him with both her legs. Unbelievable! Barely even trying to dodge the strike, the knight began to laugh again as he stumbled backward. What did this little woman think she could do by kicking him? Was she ill in the head? The man continued to laugh until his heel kicked something and he felt something tighten around his ankle. Then, before he could process what was happening, he was drug across the ground and suddenly suspended in the air. Looking up in panic, he saw a thick vine clutching at his leg. He struggled to get loose, but his wild failings only left him disoriented and queasy.

As he watched, the woman got up. She pulled her hood back over her face and stretched out. Then she moved her neck a bit, working out kinks, and craked her knuckles. With a chuckle, she picked up the rifle. She examined it for a moment, taking it's balance. She then began to twirl it, like some large baton. Walking towards the now helpless knight, she spoke.

"What? You look like you've never even seen a snare before. Caught in my trap, like a helpless little rabbit."

Something in her voice made the trained soldier uneasy. Her voice seemed to slither through the air with a sadistic pleasure. Pacing towards him, twirling a weapon of war as if it was a child's toy, something seemed not at all right. Just as he tried to scream, the woman was upon him, her hand over his mouth, unbearably close. She pulled a bit of gauze from her cloak and wrapped it around his mouth, despite his murmured protests.

With the man silenced, she continued, her icy eyes staring right into his. "I want you to deliver a message for me. It's addressed to the Medicine Woman of your town. It's a two parter, so pay attention regardless of all that blood rushing to your head." She shoved the guard to the side and he began to sway back and forth like a pendulum. Each time he passed by her, gun still at her side, she shoved him again so he went higher and faster.

"First off, tell her I'm watching. I've taken her as a good bit of sport and fun. Regular animals can be so boring at times. Sure, the occasional mountain lion or warg will give me a thrill, but I want something a little more interesting now. They say humans are the greatest game of all. So, tell her to consider it an honor. I'll look forward to having a lock of that beautiful black hair of her's as a trophy." The huntress blew a pale bang from her forehead. "After all, she owes me that much."

The man was beginning to get very, very nauseous. He went back and forth, high then low. The woman had stopped shoving however.

"Second part, and this one is important." She twirled the rifle and rested it on her shoulder as if it was a bat. "There's more where this came from!" As the knight accelerated on his way back to the ranger she swung with a snarl. The last thing the knight remembered was the grain of the wood as it came rushing to meet his face, then everything went dark.

((So now Miah may be stalking you in the town or in the woods. Neither of the guards are dead. The rifleman is KO and the knight is going to be beaten up really nastily. She'll leave the scene as it is, of course, for dramatic effect.))

Vi: "That's the last thing I wanted *sigh*"

But vixen is on the west side, so she didn't ere the scream. I guess a scout will have to relay the messages.

Oh and, the soldier is not in a complete dark, their walkie-talkie still works, but only in short range due to relay tower being disabled.

Also, what's the current state of the west wall?

And I also did some balancing on my tulpa's stat, I'll post it on the next post. Chloe's new character sheet will incorporate a stat called "Sanity" which is used to control her shadow instead of endurance. Her shadow will also have the same stat.

|Vixen|

[Th..s is ... scout u..t, east ....ll is in tr...ble.]

Vixen's walkie-talkie rang, the connection came from a "device to device" direct frequency from the scout unit nearby. Although the voice is breaking up, it's comprehensible.

[This.... Southern bar..ack...ending reinfo...ement over.]

East wall is covered

Vixen thought and sighed a relief as she continued towards the west wall. After a moment, she reached the west wall. 3 dead knights, that's not good. Vixen conjured a fire and pulled out another of her revolver. Ready to join in the fight...

|DSC squad|

"Have you heard of the event during this noon?"

A group of guards is standing by waiting for a command. One of them broke the silence with a conversation starter.

"Some sort of wraith possessing a chick in black clothing was it?"

"According to the professor, the movement was too advanced for a wraith."

"You never know, they might have improved."

"I'm not sure, but doc told us not to attack the women in black on sight. She said it's just a huge misunderstanding."

"What does she looked like?"

"According to my first-hand experience. She wore black attire and have a brown or black short hair, I'm not sure. I saw her blue eyes though, a really beautiful pair of eyes. Probably a huntress, a really sexy one too."

The rifleman recount his experience, rubbing his arm that was injured by the figure in discussion during the event. One of the guard whistled, and said in a creepy voice;

"Dem huntress in black, deadly and sexy~!"

"I'm sure you don't wanna meet her, she really made a mess out of my arm..."

Suddenly, their commander bursted through the door. All of the guard saluted him.

"Gentlemen! East gate's in trouble, they requested reinforcement! On the double people!"

A riflemen commander shouted orders to his men. 5 riflemen and 2 knights joined the commander as he rushed out of the barrack.

As they hurriedly made their way towards the east wall, a scream of a women pierced the air.

"The hell's that?"

"Did the werepires went past the gates?"

The commander thought for a split-second and commanded two of his men to go check it out. A knight and a riflemen.

The two went towards the the source of the scream, fearing the worst. They finally found the source of the voice as the distress call of a maiden becomes stronger. They located the voice behind a door.

"I better take my helmets off, the new design looked almost like one of those monster."

The knight took of his helmets and approached the door.

"Miss, it's alright now. We're here to help yo-"

The door crashed into his face, breaking his nose. A hooded figure rushed out of the doorway and went past the knight. A wraith is the last thing he wanted in this kind of situation. He got up just in time to see his comrade getting his head bashed with his own weapon. This guy always skipped his CQC routine, no wonder why he got knocked so fast. The knight unsheathed his swords and shield ready to fight the possessed figure.

The wraith in a women body jumped and kicked him in the chest, it's not even scary. Then it showered him with a barrage of rifle jab. This wraith never learns how to fire a gun is it? The knight starts laughing as he think of his enemy's stupidity and how it got the better of him and his partner in the first place. He laughed at his own incapability, then blocked the swing of the rifle's butt and bashed the figure with his shield. The wraith spun and crashed at a stone. Piece of cake.

"Stupid guy, how the hell did he got knocked out by this excuse of a warrior?"

The knight inspected the face of the poor women. How unfortunate, possessed by a wraith to do it's dirty job. He noticed that the women is white-haired, not the huntress they were talking about. He also noticed the shining blue eye staring at him.

"What the-"

The wraith kicked him, idiots. It doesn't even itch. This wraith must have forgot to possess the women's brain. Then, he tripped. The world raced across his face and spun. Then, everything went upside down. He tried to break free, but failed to do so as blood rushed to his head making him felt nauseous. The possessed women walks up to him.

"What? You look like you've never even seen a snare before. Caught in my trap, like a helpless little rabbit."

The women sounded sadistic, this is not good. The knight tried to yell for reinforcement, but his mouth was stuffed with some sort of cloth. This is the last thing he wanted to happen. The women then continued her speech.

"I want you to deliver a message for me. It's addressed to the Medicine Woman of your town. It's a two parter, so pay attention regardless of all that blood rushing to your head."

Medicine women... Vixen?

The knight tried to retort, but the cloth muffled his voice and the swaying caused by the possessed women's shove doesn't help. Besides, this women looked dangerous, she seemed pissed. REALLY pissed.

I'll look forward to having a lock of that beautiful black hair of her's as a trophy. After all, she owes me that much."

This women is a psychopath...

"Second part, and this one is important."

The women arched the rifle behind her back. The knight swung back and forth as he saw the women's action.

Oh crap...

The knight knew exactly what she's going to do. At least she won't kill him, and his nose already broke so what could go worse? He tensed up to prevent his neck from breaking and closes his eye. He wasn't sure what the psycho possessed women said but he heard the butt of the rifle cuts through the air and stops as all the kinetic energy passed into his head.

The three finally reached the generator. Chloe felt uneasy, something is not right.

"Let's get this bitch fixed up."

Aigis said as his went into the watermill hut, revolver at the ready. Adam followed in.

Why do I felt scared?

Chloe thought as she followed behind the two. The hut's only source of light came from Adam's javelin which doubles as torch. Aigis kicked one of the door and went inside. Adam was about to follows him, when Aigis yelled.

"What the fuck?"

Chloe rushes in, and saw series of machinery. Pipes leads to another pipes, some leads to a large metal bulb. Something seems to be missing though...

"Where the hell's the core?"

Adam and Chloe remains oblivious to the exact trouble. CHloe asked innocently;

"What do you mean uncle Aigis?"

"What I mean is that the WHOLE FUCKING PLUME OF DUSK DISAPPEARED?"

"oi! Calm down!"

"CALM DOWN MY ASS, how can I fix this shit WITHOUT THE PLUME?!? The whole town is in the dark and monster's going to take the chance and you expect me to CALM THE FUCK DOWN?!?"

As Aigis fumed, 3 people came into the room.

As Chloe saw them, a massive headache attacks her, and her shadow starts to flail violently.

They must die!

No!

They tortured you!

But... I... won't!

DON'T HOLD ME BACK!

STOP!

The shadow around Chloe began to cover her body. Chloe clutches her head as she falls down to one knee. The 3 stranger stood in silence, as if they expected this to happen. But they were very surprised as they saw Chloe regaining her control.

"Hey girl! Are you alright?"

Chloe stood up looking at the 3 men.

"They found me."

The 3 men summoned their shadow, and it shifted into an armor just like Chloe's.

Alright, here goes the idea I've waited for so long to add in.

Chloe - That cheerful girl with ponytail.

Aigis - The male cyborg that looks like raiden in MGR.

Vixen - Half dragon female who looks like Mary in DMC3 when in human form.

((Aw shit, things starting to get serious. Writing up the next post now, I'm going to exchange of of those file men for a medic, my guy is a little occupied to deal with what happened. So, enroute to the west wall is A rifleman commander, one knight, one medic and three riflemen, if we disclude the two that Miah completely owned.))

And please, call me G.

The werepires recovered from their grounding at lashed out at the knights,

Werepires attack, accuracy; d14: 7

Block, strength; d11: 5

Daze, strength; d11: 1, critical success! Daze for two turns, small skill loss.

New stats: 14 endurance

The knights held strong and countered stronger, bashing the werepires dead across their jaws. Their commander was stood against his own werepire and shouted ''Attack me! Strike me down!'' The beast gladly obliged,

Werepire attack; d14: 9

Block; d10: 10

Endure; d10: 6.

New stats: 12 endurance, 22 accuracy

The commander held up his shield but he was dooped; the werepire side steped and slahsed his arm. The commander shouted in pain but quickly refound his stance for the next attack from one of the monsters. Back to the knights, the wargs took their turn.

Wargs attack, numbers bonus (-1); d14: 2 (3)

Dodge; d17: 4

Endure; d11: 6, decent skill loss

New stats: 14 endurance, 12 strength, 22 agility

The wargs, doubling numbers to the knights, easily made target on the men; the knights—force to dodge because of numbers—done their best to avoid the hail of claws, avoiding the fatal blows. ''Common men, fight! Fight!'' Distracted, the commander only barely seen the two warg that had chosen him as target baring their teeth in attack,

Wargs attack, bonus; d14: 6 (7)

Dodge; d21: 6

Attack again; d14: 2 (3)

Dodge; d21: 11

Endure; d11: 9. Man down!

The commander matched the wargs speed, but only barely, and the warg went at him again. The beasts aimed perfectly, the knight was unable to evade them, and their claws managed to get under his armour and into his chest. He fell without shouting, as not to alarm his men, and stayed silent.

The riflemen reloaded, aimed and fired at the beasts again,

Fire at werepires; d15: 5

Dodge, dazed

Endure; d14: 9, decent skill loss

Fire at wargs; d15: 7

Dodge; d7: 2

New stats: Knight's Werepires. 15 endurance, 7 agility, 10 strength to all.

Kcommander werepire. 15 endurance, 8 agility, 11 strength.

The werepires were made mince meat of, but the warg were too quick and hissed ((would they hiss?)) at the riflemen, before being drawn back to the knights.

Pruria faced the dog once more and changed to a nimble stance, the beast howled at the shadowy cloud over the town and lunger at her again,

Warg attack; d14: 11

Dodge; d14: 2

Pruria counter; d12: 12

Block, strength; d9: 4

G fire; d16: 8

Warg dodge; d7: no need

The pegasus expertly jumped from the way of the dogs lunge, but less expertly countered. Though the warg was forced to block, because of the quickness of the attack, his strength over powered the pony's, sending the bass from harming him. The man kingled the revolver, one bullet, and aimed once more. Once he had missed, he flimsily reloaded the thing and packed the weapon back into his satchel, proceeding that by pulling out his knife, ''I'd rather a tooth pick then all this metal thing, both these metal things!''

In his half-pause of reloading the gun, G surveyed the rest of the wall and noticed a body, lay upon the stone, ''Commander down!''

((The DSC group will arrive at the next turn and fuck some shit up, I hope. By the way, do they have a knight or rifleman commander?))

The west wall shouldn't be all bad, Vixen, as long as the riflemen don't derp everything up; it'hould be the north wall you should be pyromancing the shit outta'. Don't forget that warg that escaped into the town, Aigis, your his mark; but I wouldn't put it past the stupid thing to lose focus and maybe attack someone else...

Also, question: should we include bonus to blocking/dodging if the person prepares for it? It only seems fit...

Vixen - Half dragon female who looks like Mary in DMC3 when in human form.

((Oh, yes, that would be a good idea actually. And I never done the final stats, that will be done now too.))

On the west wall, the rifleman commander, picked up his walkie talkie and, unlike one of his counter parts shouldv'e done, flicked it to the short range mode and called into it. ''West wall reporting, attackers under control; but one casualty and three fatalities. Repeat, attackers under control, one casualty.

Men fire, numbers bonus (-3); d14: 1 (2)

Dodge; d10: 8

Dead, dead, dead!

''West wall, Rifle Commander Dill reporting; all attackers eliminated. Repeat, all attackers eliminated.'' He clicked off the talkies and sighed, looked to his men and began rallying orders to treat the dead, and re-arm for the next wave.
