Abia August 3, 2015 August 3, 2015 I don't think those wings have bones. Personally, the thing I find most disturbing about it is the non-mammal mammaries. Is that weird? No, not weird, but I'm more concerned about the angle of the neck. Ouch.
Angel August 4, 2015 August 4, 2015 Yeah, nothing really explicit there, but I can understand people not wanting to open that up with someone standing behind them. Personally, the thing I find most disturbing about it is the non-mammal mammaries. Is that weird? It's perfectly normal, of course. It's furries fascinated by non-mammal mammaries obviously. I hope I'm not offending anyone, De gustibus non est disputandum.
TheSanctuary August 4, 2015 August 4, 2015 Interesting- just saw that someone else had a tulpa with the same name as .. Well I was gonna say Vixen but then it sounded weird so.. Mine? Also my (Vixen) also has feathered wings that connect between the shoulder blades- as for requiring super strong muscles that's not really a problem for her given she's like insanely strong.
arcon August 6, 2015 August 6, 2015 without just adding things to Hanna becuase i think its cool some not imposible options ive come up with lab grown wings quantum glued to the body just below the shoulder blades three to four inches apart and nerves quantum locked with the wings i was thinking in a sense of telekanises replacing magic the wings could be a mental projection a symbiote that binds to a non hostile hosts body it later grows wings in order to help keep the host alive
Ashmo August 6, 2015 August 6, 2015 [My wings start from my shoulder blades. Or they are my shoulder blades? Something like that. The big bone that makes up most of the wing itself is either part of hat or attached to that, or something.]
Luminesce August 6, 2015 August 6, 2015 Flandre: I have wings I guess, they're called that. I don't know what to say about how they're connected though. A lot of the time I don't even have them, because they take up so much space. They just connect to my back under my shoulders, and imagination magic makes them work. It's not like they're even wings that would enable someone to fly anyways, they're just pretty. How would you explain these? Now I'm self conscious about how weirdly not-wings my wings are, thanks. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Those wings connecting to your back under the shoulders makes sense to me. The positioning on the drawing itself is confusing, but the wings aren't fundamentally bad or anything. The design is kind of cool. On wings connected to shoulder blades: If the humerus is directly fused to the scapula, the humanoid likely wouldn't be able to move them enough to sustain flight. You're better off placing the wings below the shoulder blades/lower down the back, or at least using a more flexible joint type. Wings and arms both need to be capable of a wide range of motion. Putting the limbs too close together would hinder the necessary movement. This and this make fair examples. Magic-powered flight and less realistic styles are fine, too.
cartowheel August 8, 2015 August 8, 2015 I finally found a picture that might help: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_md28wh4mQO1r09daoo1_500.jpg It's an interesting way to go about having wings. I wasn't sure how to explain Chael's wings - when I created him, they just, you know, 'were' - until I looked at this picture and he gave me the overwhelming feeling of confirmation (he's not exactly vocal yet), so that must be it. At least how they're connected to his body. The actual wings themselves are identical to the anatomy of your typical bird and have a wingspan of about 9-10 feet wide, along with folding to his back when not in use.
