oowarrior March 28, 2013 March 28, 2013 I've read a couple of threads regarding diet and crafting tulpae. While I am relatively new at creating Tulpae, I have experience with meditation. A while back I went Vegan and I noticed I had the ability to achieve a much deeper level of meditation. I'll try to describe this experience. Before, I could go deep into meditation, and if I got too deep I'd fall asleep. But since implementing the new diet it seems I can go even deeper without falling asleep. And lucid dreaming seems a tad easier as well. All the horrible ingredients in processed foods literally cloud your brain, and makes concentration difficult. Even if you think you have really good concentration skills, you can boost these skills considerably by simply eating better. Its not a coincidence many Buddhist monks are Vegetarians/Vegans. Lacquer March 28, 2013 March 28, 2013 1) What do you mean by "deeper" meditation? 2) What if one remained eating meat and eggs and the like, but still cut out processed foods, regardless of their food group? Would that help with this, as you have experienced, or do you think that cutting out the meat and eggs and the like did the trick?
oowarrior March 28, 2013 Author March 28, 2013 1) Quieter mind, less racing thoughts, far better concentration, and more detached from the physical world. Easier to visualize. 2) The more bad foods you can cut out the better. Sodas absolutely must go. Processed foods must go. To achieve maximum performance yes cutting out meat and dairy is essential. However eating fish and super lean meats won't do much harm. Studies have linked eating meat to cancer, so there you go. Also drugs tobacco and especially alcohol all kill brain cells. ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality
Sands March 28, 2013 March 28, 2013 Everything gives you cancer and kills you, though. Do remember that we still are omnivores, so meat is a part of our diet, but it means it's not the only thing we should be eating. Because again, omnivore, not carnivore. But a lot of the meat sold to us is shitty, so I can see why someone would skip eating meat just because it's not a good thing to eat and not because of the usual issue with animals getting killed. But the same thing goes to fruit and veggies, organic doesn't mean pesticide-free, for example. So watch what you eat and where the food comes from, because even if it's supposed to be "good", it might have shit added that makes it total shit. We can all agree with the processed foods, though. oowarrior March 28, 2013 Author March 28, 2013 I disagree. Why don't people smoke cigarettes? Because its liked with cancer. Not everything causes cancer. The book "The China Study", lots of people were looked at around the world and the higher meat intake the higher the risk was for cancer. Don't take my work for this, do some research. It's debatable whether we're omnivores, if you say a baby chick on your dinner plate I'm pretty sure you wouldn't eat it. Yeah fruit and vegetables have pesticides. Well buy local non-pesticide options. All farm animals are fed steroids and antibiotics. 70% of antibiotic production is USA is toward farm animals. You want to eat that? ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality

Sands March 28, 2013 March 28, 2013 Nowhere did I say that cigarettes don't cause cancer, do you're just being stupid pointing that thing out there. But the thing is, someone makes a study. Study finds out that thing x causes cancer. And thing y. And z. Everything around us causes us to have cancer when someone decides to study them and actually finds out that hey, this seems to be causing more cancer. I think you're the one who should do research instead of blindly screaming something is healthy because you have heard the other thing causes cancer. I'm not one for eating bloody and raw things, but that would be possible for us humans and actually a diet some follow. As long as the meat is fresh and you know where it's coming from, so something you either raised yourself or know who raised the animal and you know for a fact that the meat is good. Also, our teeth are that of an omnivore. So, at some point in our history, it has been better for us to be able to eat everything. Of course it's possible to have a healthy vegan diet, but you need to make sure you actually get everything you need you would normally get from animal-based sources. Everyone should take that into account, or else they end up an unhealthy vegan. It's not just the pesticides, either. Fertilizers also are a problem, but we just have too many people living on this Earth. It's impossible to grow all of us food using the space we got without sprinkling it full of shit that makes it grow faster and bigger, which is just more shit added to our food which could give us like, say, cancer. Buying local isn't always an option either, especially if you live in a climate where most shit doesn't work and there's just not enough land or farmers growing stuff. All local stuff here is basically limited to summer and fall, except meat. Good thing nothing about USA matters to me personally as I'm not American. I'd actually love hearing from a person who is into eating everything raw. I know I like my fruit and veggies raw, so it's even more important for me that the stuff is clean, but growing shit myself just isn't an option. waffles March 28, 2013 March 28, 2013 You seem to be drawing a big conclusion from one sequence of events. You became a vegan and subsequently were able to concentrate better? Great, but far from conclusive. I'd like to see if it's true, but I like my animal produce more anyway. You keep saying two different things: that animal produce is bad for concentration and that processed produce is bad for concentration. Which one is it, and can you back it up? Its not a coincidence many Buddhist monks are Vegetarians/Vegans. It is though. Buddhism is centred on non-violence, and so eating meat could be, by extension, killing the animal it came from, especially in a marketplace where this might literally be the case. Nevertheless, a monk will happily eat offered left-over meat. It's debatable whether we're omnivores, 'Omnivore' doesn't mean 'eat everything'; it basically means 'eat lots of things'. Humans are omnivores. All farm animals are fed steroids and antibiotics. 70% of antibiotic production is USA is toward farm animals. You want to eat that? No, you're right, I'd much rather eat diseased animals.
Lacquer March 28, 2013 March 28, 2013 if you [saw] a baby chick on your dinner plate I'm pretty sure you wouldn't eat it Well of course we wouldn't fucking eat it. It's not cooked, and because it is young, there'd be less meat on its bones.
oowarrior March 28, 2013 Author March 28, 2013 I'm not going to get into a huge scientific debate about whether to go Vegan, I've done it too many times. I don't care if everyone disagrees with my advise. I know the power of the diet on the mind. It works great for me. If don't buy in to what I'm saying well to bad for you. Do some research. There's a huge movement of people doing this. Just Google it. ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality
