If you wish to tell others about that Pleeb, that's great and interesting. If you're trying to make our vegan friend here see meat's not the devil, I'm afraid all you wrote is useless. That's just how it goes, he knows vegan diet is the best and that means it is because only he can see the truth and that makes it a fact. You're nothing but a troll you see.

Speaking of your paleo diet Pleeb, how much of it is eaten raw? I didn't really see anything about that when I skimmed through your links because I'm a lazy faggot. I am thinking it also means you choose products that are grown in a way that's, well, I dunno, healthier to us? I think that's what I read in there. But again, how much of it is raw? I know I couldn't eat raw meat and our ancestors probably liked to cook it too, but what about vegetables and such? I don't see much of a reason to cook those, just nom away, huh? Is there a rule to how much of it should be eaten raw based on your diet?

I'm not sure about the specifics regarding the diet, for me however, it depends on what I'm eating. Things like broccoli and other things that get cooked are steamed (boiling gets rid of a lot of the vitamins) while a lot of the fruits and stuff are raw. I cook my squash but not tomatos. Have spinach in a salad but also steamed with grilled onion.

For meat, I don't really eat pork, and when I do, it's cooked fully. Poultry, burgers, all that stuff is cooked. Fish, it depends (I do enjoy sushi), and beef steak is usually rare to med-rare for me, seared in my cast iron skillet (while beef chucks such as in stew, are cooked).

All in all, if I can cook the food without ruining its nutritional value -- and it needs to be cooked, such as asparagus, or if it just tastes better to me cooked -- then I cook it.

Regarding our OP, I'm just making my own observations on the subject, prompting to design an experiment, and giving our OP some resources or proper scientific journals.

I don't always eat pork... But when I do... It's fully cooked. That is how I read that first sentence.

But I digress, the cooking of meat to me, seems obvious. I couldn't eat a raw steak, and I have a hard time with rare. Medium rare, perfect, rare, not so much and this sentence had a lot of commas in it.

What about Calcium and Vitamin D? The cavemen got a lot more sun than we do.

I never said meat was the devil. I did an experiment by going Vegan to see if I felt better. I felt much better. How can you say the Vegan diet is bad if you've never tried it? I'm sure you can google hundreds of articles condemning Veganism and a hundred praising it. Studies can be biased. All 6 billion+ people on this planet can tell me going Vegan is bad, and I'd disagree with all of them. You can't tell me it's bad, I feel amazing. Literally you're whole body improves.

Thanks for the resources, but I've read quite a bit on this subject and the evidence seems pretty strong for eating a plant based diet. Most of the arguments against Vegan are centered around Vitamin B12, Calcium and a couple others, but it's an easy fix seeing there are plenty of multivitamins which supply all of this. Check out the book "The China Study". It's a shocker.

It doesn't matter.

Still though, I feel as if this thread is bloated and pointless. Well, it HAS a point, but that's not the point. We are going for science, and science requires sacrifice!

Pleeb made a suggestion for someone to try this experiment, for science! So... Anyone up for volunteering? I'll get back to you guys after I finish my burger.

Fish, my friend! Also Mushrooms. You'll find a good amount of VitD those, among other things.

Orange Juice sometimes has calcium added, but there's also things like Almonds and different herbs (Savory has over 200%DV per serving), among other things.

And then you go and say I said a vegan diet is bad, when I never did. Just like you said, biased studies. Those who found a vegan diet working for them praise it, those who didn't have it work obviously don't. Because hey, did you know that some diets work better for others? Hot damn.

Like you said, "All 6 billion+ people on this planet can tell me going Vegan is bad, and I'd disagree with all of them" and "You can't tell me it's bad, I feel amazing", you're not objective at all which is why you are failing so badly tying to "protect" your viewpoint, because you're obviously just screaming and kicking when we don't lick your ass as you obviously are correct without showing us any proof. That and "literally you're whole body improves", [citation needed]. Obviously going vegan didn't improve your grammar though.

If you absolutely have to take vitamins to stay healthy, your diet isn't as good as it could be, as it doesn't provide you with everything you need.

Wait, did you go from regular omnivore straight to vegan, or was there a vegetarian stage in there?

I didn't just make the switch overnight. A couple years ago I went vegetarian, but I quit. Basically, it was a ongoing process of eating healthy, eating bad as in fast food, then healthy again. Finally, I went vegetarian, and then Vegan.
