So, This is a thread just about how you decided to make your tulpa, Personally it took me a long time to start forcing (I just recently started) I found it to be a little scary, trying to play out everything, Probably the same reason why i take forever to create a character in games. Did anybody else have this problem? Or were you fairly relaxed with your choices (Name/Looks/Personality/Everything)

I'd say that my choices initially were laid back and reckless. And nothing has changed.

I began creating my tulpa within two days of hearing about them. It wasn't too hard of a choice for me, since I realized a character I used in daydreams was essentially the same as a tulpa, as she was a split of me used to process automatic and secondary thoughts and statistics, much like an AI. When I found out I could have something akin to that in my head, I ran with it! So, my choices as far as personality and form were pretty much made, save for some minor modifications from the daydream entity. Being familiar with lucid dreaming, another thing those crafty Tibetan monks thought up, helped make the idea more credible to me.

I didn't really have any issue with making them. I just told them to do what they wanted and let it play out from there, so my choices were very much so lax. I began creating my first on accident, then I killed it. Then I found out about it again, made a new one, saw sentience, and killed it. About three more dead tulpa later, I found this site, learned that they weren't mind demons, and didn't kill them. The first of my current ones was made as a companion, the second two were unplanned, and anything I make from here on out is just to satisfying my god complex.

Let's focus on the matter at hand, shall we?

I can't say I took much time to get started. Of course when I began I wasn't aware of the tulpa concept at all. I didn't consider what I was making would become so important in the long term, nor did I consider it could have anything even close to "sentience"

I'd probably be a lot more cautious getting started had I started by finding this community. I'm glad I started the way I did though. I learned everything about my tulpa through experience, rather than trying to consider every detail before I began.

Ah aha ahahaahahaahhhaahaahahhhahahhaha, oh man.

I haven't even started yet, and my PR is... well, just look.

I was one of those "Welp, what do I have to lose if it IS dangerous" kind of guys, so I jumped right into it. Besides, the thought of having a companion like Snow (or Celicia for that matter) just seemed a little too good to pass up, even if I did have plans to become more socially involved in the future.

The only instances of hesitation I had was whether or not Snow and Celicia would believe in the afterlife the way I do, or if they'd actually go on to ridicule it like some crazed atheist (inb4 take it 2 metuh). After perhaps an hour, after I understood the precautions necessarily to be taken, that didn't become a problem.

Besides, I'm one of those guys who looked forward to the idea of insanity, most of the time cynical about the limitations of our reality. Having a tulpa of a cartoon, or something that isn't normal seemed more appealing than anything else. And again, my mindset was that I didn't have anything important to lose that would be a direct result of the experience.

I took a little time to decide what kind of tulpa to make especially the gender. Basically I imagined a perfect friend and forced it.

~Tulpa~

Name ---------> Caleb

Sex ----------> Male

Form ---------> Human

Stage --------> Personality

I actually started making mine the day I found this site.

To be honest, I SHOULD have thought about it more.

I know I would have still come to the same conclusion, but still.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."
