"Not having a mids eye" would imply that you're physically incapable of describing a stop sign without looking at one.

The above post does not contain facts.

I can't agree with that, Q2.

I can remember the fact that a stop sign is a red octagonal sign with the word "stop" on it, even if I can't visualize one.

When asked what color one is, you don't have to stop and visualize it to know. I just know it. It is a fact in my brain, just like that there are 7 continents.

And the fact that it says "stop" on it is just... Well no shit.

I think most with very poor minds eye ability can still imagine a stop sign due to its a very very simple form.. not much more then just a simple shape.

Im a very experienced meditator and my ability to see things in my minds eye even after 10 years of meditating and doing or rather "trying" to do visualisation eg guided meditations where one is meant to imagine walking throu a scene or whatever is extremely poor. I cant imagine it at all.

I cant imagine in my minds eye.. beyond a simple shape. If someone asked me to describe another.. I cant do it other then just hair colour (if im lucky), if they are tall or short and male and female..but other then those 3 things, I couldnt give a description as I cant imagine them at all even I often wont know if the persons hair was long or short and often dont remember their hair colour..was it blond, grey or brown? (If I got robbed I wouldnt be able to describe who did it at all due to that lack I have in this area).

My ability to imagine.. affects me in other ways too.. eg one day my brother-in-law came to my door and I didnt know who he was at all cause I hadnt been expecting him to come. All I knew is it was someone I knew. (all cause I dont have any idea in my head what my brother in law looks like..unless I try to memorise "facts").

I cant sexually fantasize about anything at all no matter how hard I try etc etc

So yes.. some people can have extremely poor mind eye ability and may not be able to visualise anything beyond just a shape (I struggle to visualise a colour within a simple shape say a square.. all I can visualise is the square).

If I have to describe how I got to a place to give another directions if I dont know the road names.. I wont know.. as I cant visualise how I got there in my minds eye.

The amazing thing thou is.. I can visualise my Tulpa himself if I want to look at him.. the only way I can explain this is that he must help me to do that in some way (Ive got no other explaination why I can do that but cant visualise a simple coloured square). I cant thou see what you all here call "wonderland" in my minds eye.. as I said.. I cant fantasize visually in anyway. What I can do thou is "feel" myself there eg this morning I spent some time there sitting on my Tulpas lap with him holding me.. its all feel). Because my visualisation is so poor, I actually have heighted senses in other areas (maybe that is one of the reasons why I hear my Tulpas so quickly when they were made).

I dont know how this all works but Im a good dreamer thou (and even can LD) but its more then that the subconciousness is in control more then then in normal waking life and seems to override the waking consciousness issue I have with my minds eye.

Anyway.. I wanted to share all this as some of us just dont improve in this area even with practice. (that's why I did it for so many years.. I believed one would improve.. but I never got any better with those guided meditations).

Working on imposition

I don't know about not having one, but it's very possible to not be able to find it or know how to use it properly, and as a result think you don't have it.

That was the case with me when I started out. Ultimately I was trying to get something to appear in the same way I see things physically. When I finally "found" the right thing to focus on, attempting to focus on it only brought my attention back to physical sight, making the mind's eye image vanish.

I recommend anyone in a similar situation see my "Can't see a dang thing" guide

I think that just not knowing how to use it is entirely possible, here. After all, we all have muscles that can wiggle our ears, but I have no damn clue how to do it.

It does make me wonder how that kind of thing could happen. I'm sure he, like all kids, tried daydreaming when he was younger.

But anyway, I think another reason that certainly couldn't be helping his ability to use his mind's eye is because, similar to what I said earlier, I think he might have been given a warped perception of how it works.

He told me that lots of people he asked about it said that with their mind's eye, they could "swap" people's clothes, or have whatever they're visualizing overlap what they see with their real eyes. I told him that they were all surely either exaggerating, or lying. If it were that simple, us hosts' job would be a lot easier.

So I'll have him read your guide, and he also said that he might start doing some type of exercises to help train it.
