Sands April 27, 2013 April 27, 2013 But people change anyways. No huge differences and everything takes time, but we all change as we grow. A sudden change probably just ends up being kinda, I dunno, wrong? I guess a person can suddenly change, but if they suddenly adopt a whole new way of looking at things instead of just trying their best to be something before they get it fully and it becomes them, that's just weird. Or something possibly traumatic happened to cause it, which still isn't the natural way for your pesonality change. Or something I dunno. Viceroy April 28, 2013 April 28, 2013 Way to state that as though it's fact. I said it with more emphasis than deserved because you said the opposite with more emphasis than it deserved. It bugs me to see you do that.
Kiahdaj April 28, 2013 April 28, 2013 I said it with more emphasis than deserved because you said the opposite with more emphasis than it deserved. It bugs me to see you do that. And reading comprehension claims yet another victim. Nowhere did I say they were living beings. I implied that they should be treated as such. "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."
Dawnforge April 28, 2013 April 28, 2013 If you ask me, there are certain elements in the base personality you CAN'T change. You can say tulpas aren't like humans all you want, but really they are a product of the human mind and are bound be restrictions that we are.(Unless of course people still believe in that metaphysical stuff, then well idfk) Really, your personality in another's eyes is determined by your body language, your words and your actions. You can hide your true personality from anyone given enough skill in hiding. To the other person you very well may have 'changed'. Every human(and tulpa) has set elements of their personality that are niegh impossible to change in my eyes. Fro a person, I can not tell you how these are determined, I do not know. For a tulpa? The traits you pick are going to be those. When I made my first tulpa, I had some big traits I wanted set in stone. A few of these have matured and changed and developed but they have stayed the same. Mostly the base traits in humans will change over time from various experiences, and factors. Or something tragic may cause a short, temporarily, or permanent change due to tragedy. tl;dr I think that base personality traits in tulpa are alot like a person's. They're set in stone, but stone can be changed if you chip away enough or blast it apart. So really, that is what a tulpa can not change at a whim, but it can change. 'They call me... Hotel Tulpafornia...' Tulpa(s): Luna and Twilight.
jean-luc April 28, 2013 April 28, 2013 For a tulpa? The traits you pick are going to be those. I didn't pick any traits when I made Jack. Pure narration. Stats is back: https://stats.jean-luc.org/ I don't visit as often as I used to. If you want me to see something, make sure to quote a post of mine or ping me @jean-luc
Viceroy April 28, 2013 April 28, 2013 And reading comprehension claims yet another victim. Nowhere did I say they were living beings. I implied that they should be treated as such. I mean, you can be a jerk and insult me, if you want to... but it's ultimately destructive to attempt to conceal your motives from the public just to "win" an unimportant argument.
Kiahdaj April 28, 2013 April 28, 2013 My motives? My motives should be blatantly clear, at this point. I couldn't care less what people think tulpas are, so long as they treat them with respect, and so forth. The last part of my original post was only referring to how people treat them. "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."
Viceroy April 28, 2013 April 28, 2013 Right, you want them to be treated like living beings, and thought of as living beings, even though they aren't. That's what you said, and that's what you intended for anyone to understand you saying. I'm not sure why it offends you that I understood you.
