HumbleGlow May 25, 2013 May 25, 2013 We're wondering how to improve thought independence. Phi and Ophelia tell me they try to work on this throughout the day when I'm not in the wonderland, but progress has been really slow compared to our previous endeavors. So question 1: Does anyone here have a method for measuring thought independence reliably? Like, you give your tulpa a task, come back later to see if it was independent enough to work on the task while you were not concentrating on her, and you get a result that cannot be made up on the spot by the subconscious? And question 2: Does anyone have methods for working on thought independence during active forcing? The only thing I saw was math flashcards, but I doubt this will work since I will solve the equations already while I read them to the tulpa, and then might mistake this thought for my tulpa's answer. Guest Anonymous May 25, 2013 May 25, 2013 There was a little flash game that could measure it relatively good. I'm looking for it right now. Ok, I found it. http://community.tulpa.info/thread-tulpa-parallel-processing-test I would say parallel processing is a matter of time, but don't take my word for it as I have no idea about training it.
Aarix May 25, 2013 May 25, 2013 It all comes with time. Have faith and believe they are capable. One little trick is to have your tulpa count in your head while you do whatever. If youre getting your thoughts crossed a bit and the tulpas a distraction than thats something to work on. Progress report "You'll have a Tulpa because you didn't give up" -Koomer
HumbleGlow May 25, 2013 Author May 25, 2013 Oh yeah, "parallel processing" is the other term that I should have put in the search box first. I found http://community.tulpa.info/thread-forcing-black-box-differentiation-exercise and we're going to try that as well. Our possession guide
Couguhl May 25, 2013 May 25, 2013 Something I've been working in recently is just spilling some toothpicks onto a table, and I keep them all in my visual field. Once that has been done, my tulpa counts them while I space out, and she tells me the number. Then I check for accuracy. I've just began doing this, so it might be a while before she becomes a Rainman, but it is certainly something to try. Tulpa: Sierra Forcing since July 2012 Couguhl’s Progress Report
HumbleGlow May 26, 2013 Author May 26, 2013 Interesting idea indeed, and a great opportunity to work on my phasing out. ^.^ Our possession guide
Linkzelda May 26, 2013 May 26, 2013 I would read a vocal hypnosis script I made for myself, and whenever I get to the parts where I take 2-3 minutes to stare anywhere, lowering my mind-voice, and hearing hers, my mind goes through random imagery (it ends up being what I experienced yesterday or up until the session), and Eva just says whatever comes to my mind. I have this weird feeling while she's talking, as if she's actually having her voice being louder than mine, and then when I feel the 2-3 minutes are up (I usually extend it to 5 minutes because it's pleasant to hear her slowly build up her volume), I go back to read the other part of the script until it does another 2-3 minute session of hearing her voice, and from then, it depends on how much time I have left. Usually the relaxation takes like 10-15 minutes, and then the actual act of training her to be more vocal and thinking independently is about 10-15 minutes on average (but I can easily get her to do 45 minutes of thinking, even if things are repeated, and if I made the script even more detailed that each response would be unique in some way, she would be used to saying all sorts of things). But I'll just go with the basics first before I extend on it. And last night, I decided to just use pure will and didn't use a script, did basic hypnosis to get myself relaxed, and I let Eva go on auto-pilot on whatever she wanted to do as I slowly went to sleep. I know people say you shouldn't sleep when tulpaforcing, but in this case, nothing bad happened for me.
