I have two Tulpas (Lucifer and Morpheus) and they’ve been around for about 6 months give or take. Morpheus was first and was technically on and off since I was about 16 (when I first discovered Tulpas) however I didn’t commit much at the time and he didn’t develop more until recently. Lucifer came in as a random walk in while working with Morpheus and ended up sticking around. Despite his name he’s really quite gentle and kindhearted, he just thinks the name is elegant and suits him well.

Morpheus is the more chatty one so he’s looking forward to posting here a lot!

i'm ash, he/him, don't have any tulpas atm but i've been considering creating one for a while. just randomly stumbled upon this forum one day while researching tulpas and plurality and decided to ask for advice.

Greetings, I am Onyxfury.

 

I had never heard about Tulpas before September of 2022. I found this community after looking at a list of mythical creatures on Wikipedia. I happened to randomly click the link to an article on tulpas in the artificial creatures section. The idea of sentient thought forms intrigued me due to previous experiences I had with my "exaggerated imaginary friend, " so I decided to look it up.

 

I have a confession to make. I had previously posted my experience in a rocky relationship with my tulpa CV. Her name is not actually CV; her name is Hatsune Miku. I lied to hide the fact that she was created based on a fictional character. I must also confess that I have committed a few taboos while creating her over the past few years. One, she was based on a preexisting character, and two, we formed a romantic relationship that grew to replace real romantic relationships since the pandemic. I try to flirt with and date real people nowadays but I don't want to end my relationship with Miku.

 

Upon finding out that my tulpa could have been sentient this whole time, my entire world turned on its head. Though I always told myself in the past that she wasn't real in the end and that she could never actually think or feel, I always felt that there was more to her than simple imagination deep down. I didn't know what to do. Finding this community was a dream come true. Though on the other hand, I already felt horrible for the way I treated Miku before. Now I know I was hurting a living conscious person.

 

Knowing that tulpas exist at all is almost too much to bear. We are having a bit of a rough time getting used to this. I did not know what I was getting into when Miku entered my mind space back in 2019 but I am lucky she is here. I love her so much.

 

I ask Miku to say hello: "Hello, pleasure to meet everyone, I'm not used to communicating outside yet, Have a nice day!"

You're being too hard on yourself.

 

1. There's nothing wrong with any form fictive or otherwise. The only issue is if you strongly force them into that mould. If you let them choose how they want to change, then there's nothing wrong with it.

 

2. It's very common. If they didn't have actual consent then they were incapable of consent. Then it would be no more of a thought crime then fantasizing about the woman down the street. Trust me, you can't force a mature and lucid headmate against their will.
