One of my goals, along with becoming a successful tulpamancer, is creating a comprehensive guide to tulpamancy that requires no visualization whatsoever.

Good luck!

I don't know of any comprehensive guides for those with aphantasia, so that would be a big help for some people. In the meantime, this guide says it's for "anyone that is better with words than they are with visual representation," and this mini-guide has some alternatives to visualization. Hopefully, those will help you create your tulpa 😊

I'd also like to get into research about tulpas and adjacent thoughtforms, but that will come later down the line.

This and the Research board might interest you!

Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here:

Host: fennec (they/them)

Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her)

Hello, I am Kudosami, or just Kudo.

I've been a lurker of the forums for a while now, and have officially decided to bite the bullet and make an account... sorry, fellow lurkers, I have betrayed you.

Tulpamancy, and esoteric meta-cognition as a whole, are very interesting to me. Sadly, most common guides do not help me, as I have complete aphantasia. As in, no mental imagery at all: zilch, zero, nada. In fact, I also have aphantasia for the other senses, not just mental imagery. One of my goals, along with becoming a successful tulpamancer, is creating a comprehensive guide to tulpamancy that requires no visualization whatsoever. I'd also like to get into research about tulpas and adjacent thoughtforms, but that will come later down the line.

Welcome to the site! 😊

Glad to have you here in any capacity! 😁

I wish you the best with that! 😊 It sounds like a very important thing to do!

Hello. I'm not sure why you consider tulpamancy "esoteric meta-cognition".

But if you are interested in building genuine relationships with characters through imagined interactions, it doesn't require visualization. It surely is nice to have for more immersion and can be trained but you don't need it to actually interact with the tulpa.

Putting effort into interactions with your tulpa is the necessary part. Effortless interactions with characters result from putting effort into that first. Some people already have learned this ability to a various degree (e.g. if they had imaginary friends as a child or have experience with writing) but most of us learn it with our first tulpa.

Luna: If you are still looking for learning resources, you can check out our guide, we didn't made it specifically with aphantasia in mind but visualization has never been a focal point of the practice for us.

Real liberty can exist only where exploitation has been abolished, where there is no oppression of some by others, where there is no unemployment and poverty, where a man is not haunted by the fear of being tomorrow deprived of work, of home and of bread. Only in such a society is real, and not paper, personal and every other liberty possible.

It's kinda just a blanket statement I use for anything related to esoteric teachings that pertain to the mind... so tulpas, daemons, servitors, other thoughtforms, and so on. They're esoteric practices that focus on the mind, and as schools of thought have a lot of metaphysical and "thinking about thinking" philosophies, so I call them all examples of "esoteric meta-cognition."

Some of the info here is definitely insightful, thanks for the links. The full guide by Ayre resonates with me a bit, seeing as I am a fictional writer and a lot of their guide centers around "creating a character" as the method of tulpa formation. But man, I read some of those replies, and 2016 tulpa.info was not happy with this guide lmao.

The mini guide also mentions this "character description" method, as well. Perhaps I'll have to look into doing it myself and see how it goes.

Esoteric meta-cognition is one way to put it.

I find it funny people ten years ago had a stick up their arse about tulpa-character creation, but anything was bound to piss people off during that time - I should know, I nearly burnt the whole fucking house to the ground. Anyway, ascribing traits to tups wasn't unheard of, and we've chilled out considerably henceforth. I hope you have a nice day.
