SomethingDire March 9, 2016 March 9, 2016 115 Thank you, Captain. The answer is simple. Love, and a few hardships. Well.. I did have my dad to give me that "kickstart" in the beginning. My dad, he knows his stuff about languages. Back in the day, he used to speak Spanish, German, Italian and French along with English. He can still speak English, but he lost that magic touch. I grew up to gain back that touch. My education was never consistent. I spent the half of my life in the southeastern part of my country, where all the filthy stuff happen. Then, I moved to the most prestigious town of my country, Istanbul. Bet even you guys know about that city. Therefore, I never had a school or a reliable teacher to fall back on, I had to keep up with it myself. I'm rambling, aren't I. Sorry. The point is, I came to love the English language through the stuff I went through. Video games, songs, movies, and books, most importantly. I loved the differences between British and American English, the jargons, and Old English, even. The stuff seemed magical to me. Another part of it was the pronounciation. My language is read as it is written, and in my very humble opinion, it's dull. English, in the other hand, has so many different pronunciations! From posh-sounding to street-mouth words, they all have their original way of saying. Oh, and writing poetry in English is straight up dazzling to me. Everything just sounds so more striking! Grand-slam! Dramatic! ..Oh God. Sorry. I'm SomethingDire, and Céleste is my partner in crime.
jean-luc March 9, 2016 March 9, 2016 You're allowed to ramble! SomethingDire March 10, 2016 March 10, 2016 113 No, it's alright. Everyone is allowed to have their views if it doesn't hurt anyone. I'm SomethingDire, and Céleste is my partner in crime.
jean-luc March 10, 2016 March 10, 2016 112 Of course, and people understand that so hopefully most of the argument is around whether or not certain things hurt people.
