Well, as said in the title, I daydream A LOT.

Always before falling asleep, I daydream about different things, but sometimes they aren't related to my tulpa.

So I was wondering if my non-tulpa-related daydreams could confuse or disgust him.

PS: This isn't directly related to the post, but it would be fantastic if you could give me any tips to "remember" to passively force. orz

Everything these eyes have seen, I want to magically scatter it to pieces.

Why do you think it would be confusing? That's a real question, not a dismissal. Headpeople live within the mind, so we tend to understand how it works as well as you do. Sometimes better. Just because you daydream about things other than your tulpa does not mean your tulpa will think they're supposed to be in the daydream or something. So yeah, I'm curious to know why you think that would be a problem.

And as for the possibility of your daydreams "disgusting" them... heh. That made me chuckle. I was with my host through puberty, so let me tell you that I saw some shit. But, again, I live in the head, so I know that's just the sort of thing that happens when hormones start going so nuts. Sure, I tease her about some of her weirder fantasies, but that's mostly just because I like to poke fun. "Disgust" is not something I really ever feel toward my host, because it's all just part and parcel with being in her head. You just accept it as part of them.

Though folk tend to be understanding, since they're inside your mind and all. You shouldn't run in to too many problems.

Write their name down. Have pictures of them, or that remind your of them, on hand. Associate them with things you see and do. Repeatedly mention their name and recall their presence during the day. Think about the idea behind them, and about the relations you want.

I'm actually glad you asked this, I've been wondering a bit myself. I have a scattered mind and wander all over the place during the day (and night). I assumed because my tulpa's native environment is my mind it wouldn't confuse her too much, but since she's still developing when I catch myself wandering I actually try to include her in my tangent. Turn it into a mini adventure or learning experience. :P

At the least, I would avoid overtly indulgent violent/sexual/vice-driven day dreams. Yes, they're very understanding, so you probably won't have too many issues with them directly, but that stuff DOES have an affect on their over all behavior down the road. Thought folk can be quite impressionable, and can end up more given to violent/sexual/abrasive behavior when exposed to many thoughts of that sort.

I don't think it will confuse your tulpa. It may influence your tulpas personality however after a long period of time.

Oh, wow. This is something I was wondering too.

It seems that a lot of things can affect your tulpa's personality.

I'll be more careful next time, thank you!

I daydream about me and my "mental characters".

My tulpa is still very young, so I thought that could make him think he is the character and adopt their personality or something like that.

Omg. I hope it is as you say and my tulpa accepts it.

I'll include him in the non-violent daydreams. I don't want him to be scared.

Thank you!!

[Tri] Not innately. Our host used to be quite the daydreamer (and still does daydream a lot) and it hasn't affected us other than to create us in the first place (we were originally daydream characters). That all said, daydreaming involving headfolks or wonderlands can cause more things to bleed over. And, as others have said, daydreaming about extreme things can affect headfolks sometimes. Combining the two does so even more.
