Sheet was locked on Christmas and Boxing Day so that you would go spend holiday with your friend(s) instead of compulsively modifying data in a spreadsheet. Hence the enormous picture of Santa Claus covering the first 40 rows.

Unless you're a really slow typer, I don't see how modifying some data in a spreadsheet could occupy any substantial part of Christmas and Boxing Day.
