Well, a few points.

 

It says right there the ownership of the registry is up for grabs. However, before anyone requests ownership, whoever requests it should be at least somewhat competent in using googledocs; not just someone who wants ownership. I disagree with having the directions in the thread and not in the actual registry. It's not helpful to people who get linked to it in a context other than this thread, and it increases the likelihood that people just won't read the directions. While the registry tab button isn't "hidden" and I think it's a bit silly that anyone would take "awhile" to find it, there probably should be a line saying where the button is for those not familiar with how spreadsheets work.

 

What other specific issues do you find are "a mess" with the registry, Oguigi?

Yeah, I don't have any experience with googledocs, so it took a minute to figure it out, but I don't think its really a big deal. Although it could be more aesthetically pleasing, the format isn't so terrible.

you right that it won't be helpful for anyone who get linked in a context other than this thread, but i will gamble that the vast majority of people that do go on the registry that are also interested in adding data will do so from this thread.

 

But to fix the problem for the minority that does get link to the registry any way beside this thread, the link to the directions can simply be posted on the very top in nice bold lettters. so for the ones that was actually interested in making an edit, they can learn to do so from there.

 

By doing it this way i can Promise you that more people will input their data about their tulpas.

 

While the chances of vandalism might increase. I believe that the benefits out weights the risk.

 

 

I don't really have much else to say, when i said a "mess" it was just in a general sense that "I don't like the way it currently is."

I think you're in the notes tab. You need to switch to the registry tab. It's at the bottom of the page, for me at least.

I don't believe I saw a policy on it being against the rules to post on old threads (please do correct me if I'm wrong), but I just recently found this one and would like to note that I took the liberty of tidying up the Tulpa Registry a moment ago.

 

I deleted nothing, simply organized the links a little better so that they don't wrap (even the ones that are broken are still there but are listed as broken for convenience purposes). I also fixed the alphabetizing and some minor layout issues. I tried to ensure I adhered to the rules written on the notes page in doing so. A copy of the new version of this spreadsheet was made as well, just in case it's needed later on.

 

I believe some people still use this from time to time as I noticed a handful of 2016-ers on there alongside myself, so I hope what I've done might help somewhat. If it doesn't, well at least the page is a little cleaner.

I think it's fine to post in threads like these as long as you're not just bumping it or posting something that's loosely related. I'm a bit surprised that this popped up, actually, because I haven't really look at the registry in years, so I'll throw our information up there soon.

 

The changes you've made seem fine to me, so I have nothing to complain about. It doesn't seem like too many people use the 'hours logged' column, and that makes me wonder if we really need that sort of thing on there. Someone could use that for something, I suppose.

Yeah, that's kind of what I thought, since I didn't see any rule of the sort that most forum sites usually have. I assume it's stressed more the larger the community is and the more people revive old threads with little to add.

 

I'm glad you have no complaints about the edits though. I tried to make them as minimal as possible, still preserving old data and all. Being that I'm not the current spreadsheet owner, I wouldn't want to do anything drastic, just out of respect for Chupi and the rest of the Tulpa.Info community
