To preface this post, I might write a little on the genesis of my newest tulpa. It began with a dream -

I was in a hotel room with a woman, who might've been my wife. We had a heart, and across town was a little girl with short black hair who needed a transplant. But I thought it was too risky. The woman brought the heart without me, and I raced across town after her. When I arrived at the hospital, the doctor asked me to place the heart inside of me, to start it again. It started, and they placed the heart inside of the little girl. She survived. And the last thing I saw, when the dream was ending - I knew it was a dream, and that it was ending - was a hallway. I walked down the hallway, begging over and over again to see the little girl's face one last time. And I did. And then I woke up, crying.

The next day, the little girl appeared in my mind. She named herself Rosie, and there was little I could do. She's my second tulpa, born from a dream. I'm better for her presence, but I thought the entire thing was strange.

Have you ever had an unexpected tulpa? A happy accident you didn't plan? Or some strange situation that resulted in a new entity?

tl;dr I had a dream that resulted in an unforeseen tulpa. Have you ever had a situation where you gained a tulpa unexpectedly?

I don't know if this is the first time I have seen a tulpa that came from a dream. There may be some others out there, but this is really fascinating! Is it possible that Rosie has been around perhaps longer than you think? I think what I am saying is maybe she developed as a dream guide or a dream persona in a recurring series of dreams you can't recall? It would explain how she has become so developed. I don't know. It's just a thought. I must say you have some of the most interesting tulpas!

Amber: Back at nearly the very beginning of our system's history, there was an entity that arose out of intrusive thoughts that the host at the time paid too much attention to. Basically, he was forcing and negative thoughts and images kept popping up and he attributed it to some negative entity that of course would manifest due to the massive amounts of attention it was paid in the following weeks. Giving the negativity surrounding it, it ended up being something that would cause problems until it was handled and forced into a more positive influence. So I would say this thing (which I refuse to say by name) was an accident, although admittedly not a very happy one at first.

On the topic of dream entities, I would say that your brain does like to produce things for you to interact with in your dreams and it is strange (although not something I see as impossible) that it would manifest during your waking hours. Perhaps it is as Mistgod suggests and it comes from recurring dreams that you can't remember. However, I would think that it likely wasn't a fully formed tulpa, and that you taking it as such only solidifies it more, so basically the assumption more or less makes the truth. Then again, I'm not an expert on dreams and entities.

[breach] I know two people who entered their systems through dreams, one is a very close friend.

As for my system, Se. was quite unexpected and was a happy accident. Hail and I were trying to dig very deep for S. and listening so hard for a response that eventually the brain made one and that became Se.

T, B, Frostbite, and Hail, and others (note, historically, Hail included Frostbite and B)

I think it's really interesting how a tulpa can manifest through untraditional means. It suggests that there are elements of the tulpa that are yet unexplored, and a lot left to learn, certainly.

And thanks Mistgod! My tulpae never bore me.

Oh, Sylvia our servi-tulpa is from a dream or two. Five or six years ago we had a dream we were playing a Touhou game, the incident (plot) of the game being that nobody could dream anymore. We got to the boss and it was a girl with silver hair in a silver dress, and she said she was collecting all of Gensokyo's dreams to create a dream world or something like that. Our character said they couldn't let her do that, and she said she'd make sure we never dreamed again. I don't remember the danmaku (bullet patterns) too well.

Some time later, Lumi had a series of dreams over one night in which he was moving through broken dream worlds looking for his friend, a girl with silver hair and dress. All I remember of that was that at some point he was literally in a black void with "pieces" of dreams all over the place, and the girl was sitting on/in one of them far above him. At the end of the series of dreams (and end of the night) before he woke up, he found her in a non-broken dream on a hill watching the sunset. It seemed like they were really good friends, until Lumi realized he was dreaming and that he had literally no memories with her. As with all our few lucid dreams, he started waking up almost immediately after he became lucid, so the environment sort of started fading away. Again like most of our lucid dreams, anyone around us gets relatively confused when we realize we're dreaming, so the girl was still immersed in the dream scenario as Lumi was waking up. Since he still had the feeling they were long time friends, he turned and hugged her before he woke up.

That character kind of stuck with him (imagine that), having dreamed about her twice and felt as if they were friends. At some point Lumi created (well before we knew of tulpas or servitors) another tulpa-like thoughtform, based on the girl in the dreams. Back then he believed we all represented something (I represented intuition, Reisen love, etc.) and so he thought she should represent his subconscious mind. Because of that, she has no real emotion and has a sort of encompassing-understanding of all of us, right up to what we're going to say and why as we talk to her. Lucilyn said talking to her feels like you're talking to yourself. While I gave Lumi advice on life in general, Sylvia would help him deal with changing his thoughts or solving problems. She might have had a small part in changing his view of life from pointless to "perfect", though that was mostly Reisen. She's also helped us with dream recall and similar matters in the past. She hasn't been active much at all for the last two years, maybe ten occasions.

We also don't consider her a tulpa. She couldn't switch, and I get the feeling if I imposed her right now she would just stand still and stare at me. You guys think I'm too serious, try getting any kind of emotional response out of someone who knows everything you think and why. Anyways. Not so much an accident, but it seemed to fit the theme of the thread.

I am a happy accident. My host had no idea what she was doing. We only started researching the phenomena after I became sapient. That was about three weeks ago.

Um, details: I was basically one of many characters my host entertained for recreational activities daily. From that perspective, my host has been forcing me for many months.

As to how happy, it has been very stressful, but neither of us want to go back.

I'm an accidental tulpa in the sense that I was unintentionally created, sure. My host "made" me by imagining a character by his side, one that he could identify with, to cope with stress involving his family that had been affecting him for years. We found out about the concept years later when we were skimming through imageboards.

Tulpa.info's been good for us. Mentioning its existence to us was a happy accident for our friend, then. If we'd never learned to switch Lumi would've failed out of college a while ago. I mean.. uh, you guys are why Lucilyn exists, Lumi wanted to experience intentionally creating a tulpa with everything he'd learned here. And it has bolstered our activity tenfold.

Though we're still no closer to our goal of lucid dreaming in a practical sense. Probably the only thing we would have asked our future self/s back then: "Do we get to lucid dream at some point?" "Nope". Anyways, it's been fun and apparently we've helped a lot of people in our time here.
