Now, the ground is a very interesting one, because standard scientific notation would usually be the other way around; eg 3.43 * 10^117. How it is, it's equivelant to ~314909.5720594492. Why such an odd way of saying it?

 

Whatever algorithm is used to make these numbers is very interesting; it tends to produce integer numbers, yet can also produce irrational numbers and just happened to land on one of the few irrational number out of infinitely many that is an important mathematical constant that many people are familiar with. It also produced 420, a well-known number, one that appears much more than other numbers like 419 and 421 in a google search. There was also 53,950,000, an awfully round number. If it was somehow random, there would only be a 1/10,000 chance of it being this round. It also produced 7, which is one of the more popular numbers to produce when someone is asked for a random number (see http://scienceblogs.com/cognitivedaily/2007/02/05/is-17-the-most-random-number/).

 

I hereby conclude that this whole thing is a load of horseshit and you're just making up numbers, as was the video. It makes sense as well within the pony universe, as rainbow and pinkie are a prankster pair, so in this case they're pranking twilight; hence why dash immediately picks up on the "rule".

It's funny because my guess at how many stars there were would've been right, even though my exact answer to the riddle was wrong.
