Probably not related, no. Especially since Demons are pretty much relegated to a metaphysical matter.

You can have malevolent thoughtforms, but they're likely not supernatural 'demons', in this community the answer will be 'no.' So try a spiritualist community if you have that sort if issue, they're also very nice. Spiratualforums.com for instance.

We have an old reference post we called "Tulpas aren't demons", lol. It should be relevant.

Just like with iffy friends, simply stay vigilant for any signs of manipulation or doing/suggesting things you don't want. If it comes to a point where any relationship becomes draining or a negative influence, you should break it off. But you can't go around thinking every possible "friend" is going to murder you. And you can't think that any entertained thought of another person is going to harm you, either. A tulpa is training your brain to act and think like another person, to the point where it becomes automatic and they basically seem to be a separate person. We aren't summoning (or "inviting") anything to do it for us, we aren't signing any contracts or making promises that may turn around on us. You're just talking to someone you imagine in your mind until the process becomes cemented well enough it no longer takes effort. If that imagined person starts acting demonic... well, here we'd simply call that invasive thoughts and suggest ignoring/refusing to acknowledge them, but if you're afraid of demons then feel free to just stop altogether.

Careful with self-fulfilling prophecies of paranoia though, your brain can think whatever it wants, and even what you don't want. Like, as simply as I can tell you not to imagine a pink pony, you can subconsciously tell your brain "not to" have your tulpa act evil. If you aren't careful with your thoughts, you don't have much conscious choice, see? Worrying about it can literally make it happen. So just be chill, don't worry. If you notice anything strange, talk to your tulpa about it. If you notice anything malicious, and you don't think you can deal with it, then cut it off. The one thing we can tell you about tulpas (and.. I guess.. demons masquerading as tulpas?) is that they require attention to survive, to exist at all. You don't think about them, they don't exist.

Keep in mind demons don't tend to perpetuate positive feelings. In the sense of love and happiness, not 'fame and fortune' greed-type happiness. You're basically guaranteed safe if your tulpa creates any feelings of love or happiness, because as far as I can tell that's the opposite of what a demon tries to make you feel, feeding off of pain and misery. Something like that, yeah? You'll be fine.

Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others.

All I want is a simple, peaceful life. With my family.

I think the conscious ones are spirits - either of dead people, demons, possibly fairies, or who knows what else.

So I think they can be demons but unless you give them too much power it doesn't really matter.

I think you're going to have a very hard time convincing anyone here or in the greater community in general, but there are metaphysical channels on discord in several of the servers and there is a section on this forum for it. People in there have a much more open mind in this regard.

Thank you, that's good to know.  I don't need people to agree with me about this anyway.

For me, I did the forcing thing a long time ago without being aware of the name for it or the fact that there was a thing called tulpamancy.  What I have is mixed with schizophrenia and some supernatural things that are different from what I believe goes on with the traditional tulpas that are discussed on this forum.

My main goal right now is to cleanse myself because my tulpas/spirits have become a little too hostile.

I'm pretty sure if my tulpa was a demon, she wouldn't be talking me down from suicidal thoughts. She probably also wouldn't try to get me to reconcile with my family or encourage me to become more spiritual. I think calling things 'demons' is usually just a method of making someone afraid of something you don't want them to look into.

This is talking about alters, but it's a Christian site. How to tell alters (traumagenic headmates) from demons. A lot will still apply to tulpas or other thoughtforms. Though, with tulpas, you're more likely to have intrusive problems that could be confused with demons. [edit: the author very much believes demons do exist, but that they are NOT alters/headmates]

I don't think this is exactly the help ghost kid needed, but I wanted to leave it here for anyone who might end up on this thread.

And to chip in my own story, well, I wasn't raised with religion, no belief in God or Hell or Heaven or Satan, but my tulpa converted to Christianity due to a personal revelation that inspired a love of Christ, sooo... I don't know, doesn't seem like a demon move.

Our Thread

How could tulpas be demons when it's just something the person themselves have created? Maybe a demon though could influence a tulpa just like they could influence a person but are tulpas demons? the answer is no.
